Ira Bernstein and Susan Bernstein appeared to lead a happy married life in New York. However, a decade into their marriage, the couple began having frequent altercations. Susan Bernstein Has Over a Decade of Experience as a Divorce Coach
After graduating from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Susan Bernstein earned her Master’s degree from Temple University. She then joined Florida Atlantic University, where she pursued a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. For a while, she also served as a school teacher. Having gone through complicated divorce proceedings with her ex-husband, Ira Bernstein, Susan became a Certified Divorce Coach and a Certified High Conflict Divorce Coach, with a speciality in Post-Divorce Transition and Recovery. In 2017, she founded the Montebello, New York-based organization Divorce Coach Plus, through which she uses her expertise to help clients get out of toxic relationships, navigate divorce smoothly and manage post-divorce recovery.
Apart from being a Certified Divorce Specialist and Pre-Mediation Divorce coach, Susan serves on the advisory boards of Vesta Divorce, Divorce Support Network, and Divorce Coalition. Meanwhile, she is the Director of the National Association of Divorce Professionals (NADP) and a co-founder of Divorce with Special Needs Children. Susan also serves as a mastermind coach for other coaches. The Richard Montgomery High School graduate also co-authored the international best-selling book ‘Soul Parent Volume 2: Inspiring Wisdom and Guidance on Navigating Life as a Single-Parent,’ which was published in January 2024. Susan often indulges in public speaking at various local and national events, podcasts, and summits.
Susan Korb Bernstein Has Rebuilt Her Life With Her Partner, Kids and Loved Ones
Hailing from Potomac, Maryland, Susan Korb Bernstein continues to raise her three children — two daughters and a son. Turning over a new chapter in life, the doting mother has been in a relationship with Peter Leibman since at least 2023. With immense love and support, the two raise the kids while residing in Montebello, New York. Alongside her partner and kids, Susan has taken various trips around the globe and explored many destinations, including Brazil, Portugal, and Florida. After her trip to Portugal with Peter and their friends in the summer of 2025, she shared her experience on social media.
“Thank you to Peter for treating me to ANOTHER once in a lifetime trip! This time-beautiful and romantic Portugal🇵🇹 Each day was better than the next-a HUGE thanks to Cathy and Alan who shared their favorite places!” she expressed. The family ended the year with a trip to Chamberlain, Maine, where Susan indulged in hiking, board games, and cozy bonfires. In January 2026, Susan and Peter visited the Cayman Islands where they had “awesome vacation of fun in the sun with delicious seafood, beautiful sunsets and good times…” She also maintains a close-knit bond with her parents. Being a sociable person, she has loads of friends at her monthly cooking, book, and mahjong clubs. In her free time, Susan also loves working out regularly in her home gym.
