Pete Davidson’s ‘That Time We Met’ Starts Filming in Atlanta in June

Pete Davidson’s next feature film project will take him to Atlanta. The Hollywood of the South will serve as the production base for ‘That Time We Met,’ a cosmic romantic comedy. Filming will start on June 15 this year. Nick Lieberman will direct the movie, based on a story by Nick Lieberman. Ella Purnell will star opposite Davidson.

The high-concept rom-com follows a new couple (Davidson and Purnell) who discover that their unborn child is destined to save humanity’s future. The only problem is they’ve just had their first date, and now they hate each other immensely. Will they be willing to sacrifice their mutual hatred for the sake of humanity’s existence? It’s a tough choice.

Former SNL star Pete Davidson garnered a lot of praise for his performance as Scott Carlin, a tattoo artist, in the black comedy drama ‘The King of Staten Island.’ His other recent roles include Max in the horror movie ‘The Home,’ and Travis Stolly in the Eddie Murphy-starrer action comedy ‘The Pickup.’ Next in line for Davidson is Doug Liman’s biographical drama ‘Killing Satoshi,’ co-starring Casey Affleck, and David Leitch’s heist drama ‘How to Rob a Bank,’ also starring Nicholas Hoult, Zoë Kravitz, and John C. Reilly.

Ella Purnell is primarily known for her performance as Lucy MacLean in the video-game adaptation ‘Fallout’ and Jackie Taylor in the thriller show ‘Yellowjackets.’ However, she has also starred in shows like ‘Sweetpea,’ ‘Sweetbitter,’ and ‘Belgravia.’ Movies where you may have seen her are ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’ (Emma), ‘Army of the Dead’ (Kate Ward), ‘Churchill’ (Helen Garrett), and ‘Maleficent’ (teenage Maleficent). Purnell is a voice actor as well, having voiced Powder/Jinx, sister of the protagonist, Violet (Hailee Steinfeld), in the Netflix animated show ‘Arcane,’ set in the League of Legends online multiplayer video game universe.

Nick Lieberman made his directorial debut with the mockumentary comedy movie ‘Theater Camp.’ It centers on the eccentric staff of a rundown theater camp in upstate New York, which must band together with the beloved founder’s bro-y son to keep the camp afloat. ‘That Time We Met’ is Lieberman’s sophomore directorial feature.
