The Believers Season 3 Plot and Cast Theories

‘The Believers’ season 2 presents a sobering conclusion to Win, Game, and Dear’s intense, danger-filled adventures. After the trio’s NFT game business collapses, cornering them into a tight spot with loan sharks, they discover the lucrative prospect of investing in a temple and profiting off of other people’s merit-making. Nonetheless, soon enough, this less-than-legal off-the-top skimming lands them in trouble, and worse yet, on Councillor Ae’s radar. Thus, the sophomore season begins, the businesswoman traps Win and Game into marketing a temple for her in order to raise one billion baht for the development of her hospital.

Although this brings the group of friends into close contact with near-fatal complications, and even ultimately leads to Dear’s death, the surviving duo manages to free themselves from Ae and Wut’s grip by the end of the season. Yet, as proven by the mid-credit scene, there’s still much left for the series to explore in potential future seasons. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, the show hasn’t been renewed. Even so, as per previous patterns, fans can hope for a season 3 to come out around the fall of 2027, if a renewal comes soon enough.

The Believers Season 3 Can Focus on the Aftermath of Ekachai’s Promotion

At the end of ‘The Believers,’ the narrative seemingly arrives at a conclusive place for Win and his friends. Dear’s untimely and tragic death seals her fate while also delivering a much-needed reality check for her friends. Initially, the trio had gone into business together with the same money-driven motivations, only to end up in adverse financial positions. As such, their desperation had compelled them to consider a less-than-legal avenue. Yet, by the time it became evident that their chosen path was bound to put them in the mouths of danger, they had dug themselves in too-deep holes to be able to simply crawl out without any damage. Still, now that Win and Game have to actually reckon with the reality of Dear’s death, it’s easy to imagine that they wouldn’t go out of their way again to court trouble.

Still, that doesn’t mean the ripple effects of their actions can’t continue to manifest in other ways. Throughout the first two seasons, Win and his friends’ paths notably cross with Ekachai, an ambitious monk who isn’t above committing homicide to secure his power and influence within the temple dynamics. At the end of season 2, his efforts finally pay off as he’s promoted to the position of the Abbot of the provincial Nong Khan Temple. However, this ascension comes with a catch, since the other higher-ranking monks are in possession of an incriminating video against Ekachai. Therefore, it’s likely that this power struggle within the temple walls will become a major plot point in the show moving forward.

On Major Character Will Likely Not Return in The Believers Season 3

Win, Game, and Dear have remained at the heart of ‘The Believers’ since the beginning. The trio’s friendship and dysfunctionality as a team are what ground the narrative on a solid footing, allowing the audience to form deep emotional bonds with the characters. Yet, it seems inevitable that this dynamic will have to permanently change in the event of a renewal for the series. Since Dear dies at the end of season 2, it’s likely that actress Achiraya Nitibhon will not be reprising her role in future seasons. At most, fans can expect a brief cameo of the character in a flashback or dream sequence. Nonetheless, she won’t be returning as a lead character in a potential season 3.

Therefore, Teeradon Supapunpinyo (Win) and Pachara Chirathivat (Game) will likely helm the show as co-leads in the future. Furthermore, there’s also a strong possibility that Paopetch Charoensook, who plays Monk Ekachai, will transition into a more protagonist role in the future. Other actors who can be expected to make a comeback include Patchai Pakdisusuk (Monk Dol), Pramote Seangsorn (Police Officer Yod), and Chintara Sukapatana (Win’s mother). Alternatively, we might have seen the last of antagonistic characters like Wut and Ae (Manatsanun Phanlerdwongsakul). Still, if the narrative chooses to focus on Ekachai’s storyline, we can expect to see the introduction of new characters in connection with the temple and monkhood.

The Believers Season 3 Might Explore Dol’s Relationship With Monkhood

Monk Dol is another character whose story comes to the forefront alongside Win and his friends. In season 2, he undertakes a new adventure as he decides to defrock and leave the life of a monk behind him. After his time with Win and Game, but mostly Dear, the former monk begins to question his beliefs and routines, which compel him to seek out new experiences in the outside world. However, he soon realizes life is rather difficult for a former monk to navigate. Fortunately, he’s able to find a calling of some sort with Dear, who employs his skills as a practitioner in her wellness retreat programs.

As their friendship grows, Dol even agrees to become an investment partners with her and move to America to start a new endeavor. Therefore, Dear’s death has a severe impact on the former monk. He’s emotionally devastated in the aftermath of murder, finding himself well and truly aimless for perhaps the first time in his life. The last time we see the character, he has once again donned the monk robes and is hiking through the forests in his homeland. Therefore, an exploration of his journey, as he struggles through his grief and self-discovery, could potentially be a prominent storyline for season 3.
