Helmed by Sean Cisterna, Lifetime’s ‘The Body in the Locker’ unfurls from a mystery left behind by a dead CEO of a major charity. His daughter, Amy Robertson, is still in mourning when news of her father’s darker side comes to light. All hints lead to a secret locker, where she finds a dead body. As Amy processes the images of horrors that lie in front of her, a chilling possibility arises that her father might have hidden entire chunks of his life and psyche. From there, this psychological crime thriller takes a turn inwards, as Amy has to parse through her shock, grief, and horror to get to the bottom of many family secrets before it’s too late. To that end, the past and the present blend into one, turning the Robertson house and its surroundings into a puzzle of their own.
The Body in the Locker Filming Locations
Much of the production of ‘The Body in the Locker’ was carried out in Ottawa, Ontario. The filming seemingly commenced in March 2025 and might have wrapped up around April of the same year. Situated in the center of the nation, Ontario is one of the preferred filmmaking sites that serves as the perfect base for various kinds of projects, including Sean Cisterna’s directorial.

For the filming of ‘The Body in the Locker,’ the crew set camp in Ottawa, the capital city of Canada. Situated on the southern end of Ontario, the city’s vibrant neighborhoods and streets were likely transformed into film sets, providing the creative team with enough flexibility to bring the scenes to life. Given that the television movie revolves around a wealthy family’s dark secrets, many of which are hidden in a locker, the indoor sequences were as narratively potent as the outdoor ones. As such, it is possible that the crew took over real houses and locations in Bytown, which in turn added to the immersion factor. Additionally, the exterior shots might feature some of the city’s most iconic locations, such as Parliament Hill, with its Victorian-style architecture, and the tree-lined Rideau Canal, which doubles as a boating haven and natural ice skating rink depending on the time of the year, making it an all-around perfect filming destination.
The decision to turn Ottawa into the visual canvas of the film was an easy one for the creative team of the movie, given the city’s confluence of modernity and traditional architecture, which can be found at every turn. Its impressive office towers and Gothic revival architecture make it a versatile and evergreen filming site. Moreover, its equidistance to urban, suburban, rural, and wild landscapes also contributes to its cinematic acclaim. Over the years, Ottawa has hosted the production of many celebrated titles. Alongside being an experienced actor, Kirsten Comerford is also the writer of ‘Relative Danger,’ a movie made in collaboration with Jayne Heitmeyer as a lead actor. Chris Hong as James Robertson
Actor Chris Hong essays the role of James Robertson, another family member and a key player in the mystery, by himself. With over half a dozen credits under his belt, Hong is steadily making a name for himself in the industry. Starting with the television series ‘Take Note’, where he plays Maya’s dad, Hong’s acting career also spans titles such as ‘Mistletoe Match’ and the short film ‘Cold Blood,’ where he plays Marcus and Billy, respectively. His best work can be found in acclaimed shows such as ‘Doc’ and ‘Murdoch Mysteries,’ where he portrays Best Man and Beau Bahn, respectively.
Jayne Heitmeyer as Clare
The story of ‘The Body in the Locker’ is incomplete without Jayne Heitmeyer, who plays the role of Clare, an elusive character with the potential to turn the entire mystery on its head. With over three decades of experience under her belt, Heitmeyer is among the most established actors in the cast. From an early age, Barban has been passionate about acting, and that shows in her work as a child actor for titles such as ‘The Christmas Hope’ and ‘Made… The Movie,’ where she plays Emily Adams and the younger version of Tuba, respectively.
