Detective Toussaint’s diligent efforts toward catching Reg continue to make big waves in ‘The Chi’ season 7. Her newfound partnership with Alicia pays off in the aftermath of Nuck’s unreliable tip. Alicia Plays an Undercover Part
Despite Toussaint’s helpful tip about the night of Rob’s murder, Alicia is no closer to uncovering her son’s killer than before. Although she confronts Bakari about his involvement in the incident, the young man continues pinning the blame on Zay and protecting Nuck. Thus, in the battle between Alicia and the mob boss, the aspiring author clearly seems ot have taken his side. Yet, it isn’t as if the former has run out of tools in her own arsenal. She goes on to entertain a partnership with Toussaint, who is willing to help her put away Reg if the detective can return the favor. Since Nuck’s bad tip has already burned the latter, she’s eager to pursue this new avenue.
Toussaint has been keeping watch on Reg’s hideout for some time now and has managed to identify Candice, his girlfriend. Therefore, the two women come up with a plan for Alicia to use an undercover persona and try to befriend the gangster’s girlfriend at her place of work. Unsurprisingly, the woman is great at the job and manages to instantly instill trust in the younger woman, forming a bond. Simultaneously, Reg grows suspicious of his inner circle. However, he’s unable to pin down the traitor. As such, he decides to rope Candice into his latest robbery attempt as his lookout. Inevitably, as the crime approaches, the woman gets anxious and reaches out to Alicia. Thus, it seems the latter’s efforts have led to a promising conclusion. All that is left to see is whether or not she can pull it off all the way through.
Pastor Zeke’s Podcast Appearance Complicates His Love Life
Pastor Zeke has recently found himself in a unique situation. His previous decisions regarding his parish and his love life have effectively robbed him of his previous life. Gone is the megachurch and an affair with his assistant. Now, the pastor preaches at Papa’s church, working hard to improve his reputation within the community. Nonetheless, despite his numerous tries, nothing seems to stick. As such, Papa comes to his rescue once again and offers to host him on his beloved podcast. The duo records an extensive episode that dives into Zeke’s past decisions and his current amendments toward fixing old mistakes. During their conversation, which is set to be shared with thousands of people, the pastor decides to talk about his relationship with his ex-wife, Carolyn.
He’s honest about the pitfalls of their marriage and how they’re trying to reconnect once again. Furthermore, he accepts his mistakes and vows to do a better job moving forward. While this performance may have won over his community, the same cannot be said for his family. Carolyn and Kenya’s primary problem with Zeke has always been his inability to separate his personal life from his public one. Fortunately, the pastor realizes the errors of his ways and promises to do better to ensure he can have Carolyn back in his life, this time for good.
Darnell Hosts a Living Funeral For Jada
One of the biggest troubles that plagues the community stems from Jada’s terminal cancer diagnosis. Since the woman’s life had touched so many people, her death also promises to affect many. Therefore, in order to deal with their grief and show the woman their love, Darnell decides to host a community-wide Living Funeral. In the event, the family’s closest friends come together to celebrate Jada’s life, give speeches, and express their admiration for the woman. Naturally, this night proves to be very heavy for Emmett, who is still struggling with the idea of losing his mother. Even so, despite the occasional tear, the night goes well.
At the end of the event, Jada drops a big bomb on her son by demanding an impossible promise from him. The mother is worried about Emmett and his family’s survival in the city, especially in light of his near-death experience. For the same reason, she asks him to move away with his family and start anew. Depending on how this storyline plays out, this can mean significant things for Emmett’s future. Meanwhile, another character has a life-changing experience. Tiff’s water breaks a few weeks earlier than her due date, announcing the arrival of her baby. Yet even though the mother-to-be is anxious about the birth, she has Victor by her side. Regardless of the couple’s precarious relationship, she knows she can trust the latter to take care of her.
