The filming of Deborah Ann Woll’s horror film ‘The Cycle’ starts in Astoria, Oregon, this month. Jordan Downey is directing the movie, which he wrote with Kevin Stewart. The plot follows an estranged daughter tasked with uncovering her father’s dark history after the long-missing man’s body is found at the site of a gruesome crime thirty-six years after his disappearance.
Woll is known for playing Jessica Hamby in HBO’s fantasy horror series ‘True Blood,’ Karen Page in Netflix’s Marvel shows ‘Daredevil’ and ‘The Punisher,’ and Amanda Harper in the psychological thriller ‘Escape Room.’ The actress also recently appeared as Carly Farmer in NBC’s science fiction series ‘Quantum Leap.’
Woll’s latest feature is ‘Deborah,’ which follows a group of friends who are caught in a time-altering situation that leads to unforeseen consequences. She also starred in ‘Ida Red,’ a Western thriller about Ida “Red” Walker, a woman facing a terminal illness while serving time for armed robbery. The actress is part of the cast of Disney+’s upcoming superhero series ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ which is scheduled to premiere on March 1, 2025. She reprises her original character, Karen Page, in the show, alongside Charlie Cox as Daredevil and Jon Bernthal as The Punisher.
Downey’s most recent film as a director is ‘The Head Hunter,’ which follows a medieval warrior obsessed with collecting heads. He is also known for directing ‘ThanksKilling,’ a horror-comedy film that centers on a vengeful turkey that goes on a murderous rampage against college students during the Thanksgiving break. Downey returned to this outrageous premise to make ‘ThanksKilling 3.’ His upcoming projects include ‘V/H/S/Beyond,’ a horror film that comprises six terrifying tapes unleashing chaos in a sci-fi nightmare, stretching the limits of fear and suspense.
Astoria previously served as the filming location for horror films such as ‘The Mortuary Collection’ and ‘Death By Midnight.’
