The Fixers Plot Synopsis

Louis Hsueh is a young man who works as a fixer for Ching He, a secretive criminal organization that handles issues for politicians, businesses, and other criminals. Louis comes from a prominent political family that includes his father, Jerome, and his brother, Tristan. Ching He is run by Thackery, known as the Fixer Celestial. Louis’ job is to handle secret missions and also use violence whenever necessary. Felix Chiang is a family man and a former gangster who now runs small betting games to make ends meet. Felix’s wife loses money after falling prey to an online scam, putting financial pressure on him. Felix is hired by a mysterious friend to threaten someone with a gun. Although Felix is hesitant to pick up a gun again, he reluctantly agrees.
During this job, Felix crosses paths with Louis and also injures Louis’ fellow fixer named Shadow. Recognizing Felix’s talent for fighting and wielding guns, Thackery hires him as a temporary fixer for Ching He and commands him to be Louis’ partner. Louis and Felix form an uneasy alliance and carry out important missions. Yeh Yueh Tong is a rival organization run by Madam Fan, who seeks to assume control of Ching He one day. Mina Shen is a fixer who works for Yeh Yueh Tong and is haunted by a disturbing past. Mina is looking for Gerald, a fellow fixer who went missing. The Primordial Files are important documents within the walls of Ching He, capable of upending power dynamics. Madam Fan’s father used to be the head of Ching He, until his controversial ouster by Thackery.

Mina is forced to work with Louis and Felix when their paths cross during a mission. The three of them handle an issue related to a pop star named Sheng who is involved in a sex video controversy. Felix, Louis, and Mina gradually befriend each other, despite their opposing loyalties. Mina seeks help from Felix and Louis to locate Gerald, only to learn that Gerald died while trying to expose a financial corruption scam. Interestingly, the scam involves Tristan and Jerome, making Louis question where his loyalties lie. Madam Fan wants to access the Primordial Files, while Tristan is in pole position to be the Mayor of the city. Jerome falls ill, leaving the family’s future in the hands of Tristan and Louis. A shocking betrayal seemingly leads to the death of Thackery, leaving Ching He’s fate hanging in the balance.
The Fixers Ending: Who Gets Control of Ching He and the Primordial Files? How?

Once Thackery dies in prison, Ching He’s future remains uncertain. This gives Madam Fan the best opportunity to strike and take control of Ching He and the Primordial Files. With Sir Hong betraying Thackery and joining forces with Madam Fan, Ching He seems headed for a complete leadership reorganization. The Primordial Files are top-secret files that are hidden deep within the walls of Ching He, and only Madam Fan knows how to access them, given that her father passed on the secret to her before his passing. Tristan, now the Mayor, publicly acknowledges his support for Madam Fan’s reign and says that Ching He Temple will remain a symbol of reverence. Felix remains distant from all the action, watching the transformation unfold.
Madam Fan goes to the secret wall and performs a specific sequence of actions to open the secret door leading to the Primordial Files. Just when everything appears to be resolved, a shocking revelation is made. A flashback sequence reveals that Thackery faked his own death by allying with Louis and Felix. In prison, Felix gives Thackery a substance that makes it look like he is dead, faking a heart attack. The media and the outside world are convinced that Thackery is dead, allowing him to carry out his plan in secret. It is disclosed that Sir Hong remains loyal to Thackery and only pretended to align with Madam Fan. Back in the present, on the road, Sir Hong is targeted by an assassin sent by Madam Fan, who wants to tie up all loose ends.

Before the assassin can strike, Felix intervenes and saves Sir Hong just in the nick of time. Before Madam Fan can enter the secret tunnel, Tristan shows up and shoots her to death. Tristan plans to seize the Primordial Files for himself and his family. He enters the tunnel already opened by Madam Fan and confirms that the Primordial Files are real. When Tristan steps out, he is shocked to see Thackery still alive. Thackery gets to Ching He with the help of the San He Clan and greets a perplexed Tristan. It is revealed that there was a secret camera placed in the passageway where Tristan killed Madam Fan, giving Thackery evidence against him for blackmail. Louis enters Ching He and discloses that he has been working with Thackery, much to Tristan’s dismay.
The camera also allows Louis to observe the sequence of actions necessary to open the tunnel. Louis gets hold of the Primordial Files and says he also obtained material that could be devastating for Thackery. The Primordial Files contain evidence suggesting that Thackery conspired to oust Madam Fan’s father from the organization and assume the position of Fixer Celestial. Thackery has evidence against Tristan because the camera recorded him killing Madam Fan. With both Thackery and the Hsueh Clan possessing evidence that could harm either party, a stalemate is reached. Louis is the one with the most power, despite not heading Ching He or being the Mayor.

Louis has access to the Primordial Files and is also the only one well placed to handle both sides of the emerging power dynamic. Louis says he will act as a mediator between Tristan and Thackery, keeping both in check and preventing abuse of power. Although Ching He is now under Thackery’s control and Tristan is the Mayor, both are answerable to Louis, who clearly has the upper hand because of his unique place in the power structure. The battle for control of Ching He and the Primordial Files takes several turns, ultimately leaving no single winner.
What Happens to Yeh Yueh Tong? What is the Future of the Hsueh Clan and Tristan?

After Madam Fan’s death, Yeh Yueh Tong remains leaderless and without purpose. The organization was formed as a result of Madam Fan’s plan to seek revenge for the ouster of her father from Ching He. Madam Fan uses Yeh Yueh Tong as her personal weapon, commanding the loyalty of fixers who execute dangerous missions. Madam Fan’s passing not only leaves a power vacuum but also renders Yeh Yueh Tong obsolete. It no longer has any real purpose and lacks any longstanding tradition like Ching He. It can be presumed that Ching He will take control of Yeh Yueh Tong and grow larger in influence and size.
The fixers and other loyalists who remain part of Yeh Yueh Tong may have to declare their allegiance to Thackery and Ching He and carry out future missions. Ching He’s influence will likely keep growing, as it deals with the changing power dynamic. Tristan Hsueh makes the crucial decision to kill Madam Fan and effectively end Yeh Yueh Tong. He assumes that this action will enable him to secure ultimate power for the Hsueh Clan and rule the city. Tristan fails to see that his brother, Louis, has plans of his own. Louis is loyal to both Ching He and the Hsueh Clan, and causes a stalemate in the power struggle.

Louis and Tristan’s father, Jerome, is on his deathbed and will likely pass away soon. This will mean that the Hsueh Clan is now under the control of Tristan and Louis in equal measure. While Tristan, as Mayor, will lead the legitimate side of the business, Louis will command the other side. Jerome wants his sons to share power, which finally comes to pass in the final days of his life. The Hsueh Clan, which was primarily a political force for a long time, will now also be equally important in the criminal world.
Does Felix Retire? What Does Mina Decide?

Felix serves Ching He loyally, while also taking care of his family. Felix keeps his Parkinson’s diagnosis a secret from his family and colleagues for a while, but the truth eventually comes out. He plays a major role in ensuring that Thackery gets out of prison safely, and also saves Sir Hong from Madam Fan’s assassin. After everything is resolved, Felix finds it difficult to continue a life of crime. Owing to his illness and the need to be with his wife and son, he decides to quit Ching He and seek Thackery’s blessing. Thackery and Louis heartily let Felix walk out with respect and live life in the way he sees fit. Felix eventually opens a street food joint serving swamp eels and is happy to spend more time with his loved ones.
At this point, it looks like his past as a criminal is finally behind him. However, a mysterious incident leaves Felix in doubt. One night, while cleaning the tables at his street food joint, Felix notices someone leave a paper cup and walk away. There is no clarity about what or whom Felix saw, but he looks shocked at that moment. He likely saw someone from his past, or it could also be a mystery individual from Ching He. This indicates that Felix may not be out of the woods yet and might have to re-enter the criminal world again. Mina struggles to decide where her loyalties lie and finds herself torn between the past and the present. She desperately looks for Gerald, only to learn that he has died.

Mina also sees Ben dying and is overcome by grief. Gerald and Ben were the only two who treated her with love and kindness, and she now feels a deep sense of isolation. Although both Louis and Felix are loyal and kind to Mina, she feels that the criminal world is no longer for her. Towards the end, she decides to leave the country and pursue a different future elsewhere. She fulfills her missions and learns the truth about Gerald while also witnessing Yeh Yueh Tong’s end. Since Mina understands the emotional toll of being in the criminal world of fixers, she decides to follow a different path that might eventually bring her the happiness and peace she is seeking.
Who is Fixer Primordium? What Will He Do?
During the course of Louis, Mina, Felix, and Thackery’s journey, the enigmatic Fixer Primordium is occasionally mentioned in passing. Fixer Primordium is said to be even above the Fixer Celestial in the Ching He power structure. However, Fixer Primordium is not seen till the very end. A few days after Thackery once again assumes control of Ching He, a mysterious man greets him. Thackery addresses the unknown man as Fixer Primordium. It is hinted that Fixer Primordium always operates in secret, and that his return to the limelight always suggests that something significant could happen. Fixer Primordium may now assess the emerging power dynamic in Ching He and take important decisions.

He may also command Thackery from the shadows and make crucial decisions about the Primordial Files. Though Fixer Primordium is essentially a ghost-like figure in the organization, he is clearly the most powerful, since he stays out of sight. With Louis now in a position to wield significant influence within Ching He, Fixer Primordium may try to regain his influence and establish a new regime of his own, and totally change the rules of the game. With the return of Fixer Primordium, the stakes will only get higher for everyone involved.
