The tensions are high as Fox’s ‘The Floor’ season 3 episode 6, ‘Call My Bluff,’ kicks off with 59 contestants still in the game. The excitement sets in further as the beloved host, Rob Lowe, wastes no time raising the stakes with the revelation that by the end of the night, only 50 would remain. The pressure is intense with some of the most formidable competitors on the grid. While Magan and Toni Akande are already holding their time boost, Brian O’Halloran stands as the dominant force with control over 12 territories and an impressive $80,000 in winnings. While most see Brian as the biggest threat, Magan believes Toni is actually the stronger competitor due to her speed and composure.
The Battle Starts With the Randomizer Picking the Next Challenger
The game commences when Rob informs Brian that it’s his turn to decide whether he wants to stay on the floor or come up and play. Brian says that although he urges everyone to take up the challenge and keep pushing, he would really like to defend his position on the Floor. The anticipation starts to build as the Randomizer determines the first challenger of the night, Michele. The 45-year-old specializes in Backyard Games and chooses to challenge Priscilla’s Stars with Stars category because she has her mother’s exact name. Upon her arrival on the stage, Priscilla speaks about how obsessed she is with pop culture and celebrities. The host reminds them about the rules, and the challenge commences.
As the challenger, Michele is the first one to go in this category and name the celebrity on the screen who has the honor of being a part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. As the duel ensues, Michele misses her chance to identify Tom Hanks, Olivia Newton-John, and Jackie Chan, along with a few other A-list celebrities, which takes up the majority of her allocated time and ultimately sends her home. With her win, Priscilla inherits the category of her opponent and decides to return to the Floor. This results in the Randomizer getting activated again, creating fear and excitement as it picks Bradley with the category of Poetry as the next challenger. Among the three immediate neighbors who are his options as Duel opponents, he selects Kimberly since her category is Toiletries. His thinking is it would be easy.
Upon being chosen, Kimberley excitedly shares in her confessional that if she wins the $250,000, she plans to get a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) and go on a luxurious vacation. On the other hand, Bradley says he cannot wait to win and simply return to the friends he has made on the Floor so as to continue having a good time. The challenge begins with him, and they have to identify the Toiletry item that they see on the screen. Their fellow participants anticipate this to be a back-and-forth round, noting that both of them will likely play exceptionally well. The battle gradually grows intense, but ultimately, after passing on guesses and losing time, Bradley loses the game. This clearly upset Emily and Alex, who sadly express that they will miss Bradley. Nevertheless, as the game must go on, Rob Lowe asks Kimberly what she would like to do next, and she chooses to continue with another duel and challenges Alex, whose category is Natural History. In a confessional, she discloses that her strategy is to push forward till she reaches Brian and then get his 12 spaces too.
Alex Proves to be Quite a Strategist By Bringing Twists to the Game
As Alex steps up on the stage, Rob explains that the rules of the duel will remain the same. As the challenged, it would be his category that would be played, meaning they would have to name the animals, plants, or things one can find in a natural history museum. However, as the duel begins, tension seems to get the best of her, and she ends up faltering, which ultimately results in her elimination. Alex ends up inheriting Poetry as his current category, and he responds by reciting a poem and giving everyone a sneak peek at his original intent. With the next four duel options laid down before him, he contemplates his decision, tallying the pros and cons. He remarks that since his husband cooks, they have all possible kitchen appliances at home and that he even knows about them, but he is scared of the ‘Real Housewives’ category. After careful consideration, he decides to stay on stage and challenges Jameela from the Kitchen Appliance category.
In his confessional, Alex reveals that his strategy is to gain and use his time boost to take out some of the strong players on the floor. However, in order to do that, he has to go through his neighbors and finally reach what he has been aiming for. On the other hand, Jameela seems to be very confident and says that Alex should be worried. Adding to this, the stay-at-home-fiance says that winning the money can really help her since she is going to get married soon. The duel between these two turns out to be very intense. Irrespective of the fierce battle, Jameela loses, leaving Alex as the winner. The loss of their beloved competitor leaves Emily and Elena emotional and wondering how this happened. Elena further expresses her concern that he is very intimidating and a strong player, and she knows he is coming for all of them.
With just one more duel to win a time boost, Alex ends up challenging Elena in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame category. He notes that the stakes are higher since he needs the extra time, which is quite crucial to his original plans. Tensed, Emily remarks that if the 33-year-old does not win, Alex is going to come for her next. Finally, the challenge of identifying the artists that are shown on the screen begins. Elena’s neighbors observe that she has started to blank out during the game due to pressure, and to much dismay, she is the one who ends up going home. With another win at hand, Alex achieves a time boost of five seconds. Rob further informs that there are only four more duels left for this night to win $20,000. With an interesting card up his sleeves, Alex surprises everyone when he discloses that he has been lying about something the whole time.
The Reign of Alex Continues With His Unmatched Strategic Gameplay
To add to everyone’s shock, Alex divulges that he has wanted a particular duel for a very long time. He proceeds to inform that he knows this certain category better than everyone else on the floor, except the category owner. However, he is confident that he has the upper hand because of the time boost. Finally, ending the suspense, he declares that he wants to duel with Ira. Rob remarks that Alex is playing some sneaky game. When Ira goes to the stage, Brian chimes in, noting that he is more than just a fanboy of ‘Real Housewives’; he is a ruby of the show. Meanwhile, Ira lets out that he is quite thrown off by Alex’s bluffing and is worried about the extra time in his opponent’s hands. Soon after comes the biggest twist, when Alex casually reveals that he has seen all of the episodes of the show and has been following in on the drama.
Starting one of the most intense battles of the season, the duo continues answering back and forth for a while until, ultimately, Ira fails to save the day and ends up defeated. With a smile on his face, he takes a jab at Alex, saying, “You’re dead to me,” accusing him of setting him up. Rob laughs and joins in, noting that Alex has been plotting his move all along. With Ira’s departure, Alex faces the decision of whether he wants to keep pushing forward or return to his territory. With the feeling of triumph, he says that he has finally proven that he is a formidable competitor and would like to stay until the end. So, choosing his strategy over risk, he decides to go back to his position.
Watching this, Brian realizes that he is a threat, but it is indeed an epic battle. Following this, the Randomizer chooses Robin, who challenges Cherif in the category of Space Travel. The battle resumes with Cherif being quite confident about showcasing his knowledge. Their challenge is to identify the planets or the person they see on the screen. Ultimately, Robin wins the round and inherits the Space Quarters. With his decision to return to the floor, the Randomizer once again gets to work, leaving just two more duels for the night.
The Last Two Duels Highlight That Winning is Not Easy
The Randomizer finally picks James from North Carolina as the next challenger. Although he belongs to the category of Parades, he chooses Shane, whose specialty is Oceanography. Reasoning his choice, he says that he goes on vacation once a year, which usually includes coastal areas, and this makes him confident about choosing it. The participants observe that Shane is a bundle of nerves, but holding his ground, he manages to end up winning the duel and inherits the Parades as his category. However, it soon comes to light that he has never been to a parade. In a game-altering moment, Rob announces that if Shane chooses to keep playing, then Brian will win another $20,000. However, keeping the viewers on edge, he chooses to return to the floor to prepare himself more for his newly gained category.
Following the announcement, Andrew shares his thoughts in the confessional, admitting that while it’s been really fun watching Brian take over the games, it is now time for someone else to grab the money. Rob explains that if the Randomizer doesn’t land near Brian, he will automatically receive the $20,000, bringing his total winnings to $100,000. The entire floor holds its breath as Rob scares everyone when he teases that he wants to do something unprecedented. Still, tension soon fades away as he breaks the suspense, asking Brian to deliver his catchphrase, “Activate the Randomizer.”
It makes its choice, landing below Clarione from the Boy Bands category, who is positioned at the far end of the floor from Brian. Hence, Brian finds his wins effortlessly up to 6 figures and expresses how he is truly surprised and blessed. Without even doing anything this time around, he bags money, which brings his total up to $100,000. With the final duel of the night about to begin, Clarion carefully contemplates his options, challenging Steven in the category of TV Chef, considering it as a relatively safe option. However, things do not go his way, and he is eliminated. On the other hand, since Steven succeeds in defending his category, he inherits the Boy Bands category, strengthening his position for the next battle.
