The highly anticipated feature sequel to the acclaimed Prime Video drama series ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ will soon begin production. Principal photography on ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty-The Movie’ will take place between April 27 and June 26 this year in Wilmington, North Carolina. Jenny Han, who wrote the novel and created the show, wrote the screenplay for the movie and will also direct. Lola Tung and Christopher Briney will reprise their roles as Isabel “Belly” Conklin and Conrad Fisher, respectively. While the plot is under wraps, Season 3 of the show ends with Belly and Conrad coming together after a tense reunion in Paris. Meanwhile, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) is honing his skills as a chef in Boston after having a tumultuous breakup with Belly. It remains to be seen how Belly’s life moves forward.

Lola Tung made her onscreen acting debut with ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty.’ Other than the aforementioned movie, her upcoming projects include Josephine Decker’s comedy drama ‘Chasing Summer,’ about a young woman named Jamie who returns to her Texas hometown after losing her job and boyfriend, only to have her friends and flings from a fateful high school summer turn her life upside down; and Meredith Alloway’s horror comedy ‘Forbidden Fruits,’ which is about a mall store employee who runs a secret witch cult.
Christopher Briney is primarily known for his performance as Conrad Fisher. His other feature film credits include James in ‘Daliland,’ and Aaron Samuels in ‘Mean Girls.’ We will next see him in the coming-of-age drama ‘The Julia Set,’ directed by Niki Byrne, and co-starring Chase Infiniti, Gillian Anderson, Jason Isaacs, and Nina Hoss. The story follows talented mathematician Julia, who gets into an elite prep course for the world’s most challenging math competition, the Putnam Exam.
Some other popular shows shot in Wilmington, North Carolina, are ‘Banshee,’ ‘Outer Banks,’ ‘The Waterfront,’ and ‘The Runarounds.’
