Veejay Floresca is no stranger to the world of reality television. Long before her appearance on ‘Project Runway’ season 21, she had already made her mark on the small screen. In 2008, she competed in the inaugural season of ‘Project Runway Philippines’ and finished in third place. She later went on to become the first runner-up in the debut season of ‘Dress My Tour.’ Her journey in fashion actually began in 2002 when she enrolled at De La Salle University to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion and Apparel Design, which she completed in 2006. Veejay had, in fact, wanted to study law, but she got a full scholarship to the fashion course. Due to her financial circumstances at the time, she stuck with it.
Soon after, Veejay worked as a head designer for a friend’s boutique, which gave her valuable experience and inspired her to launch her own studio from her apartment. Growing her skills took her overseas in 2011, when she earned an Associate Degree from the University of the Arts London. The following year, she began her Master’s in Fashion and Apparel Design at the Academy of Art University. Since 2016, Floresca has been at the helm of her own label, Floresca Fashion LLC, based in New York.
Her studio specializes in custom, bespoke garments, with a focus on evening gowns and bridal wear that combine elegance with meticulous craftsmanship. She is making her mark as an eco-conscious and sustainable designer. Her creations graced the runway at New York Fashion Week and earned her the Grand Prize at the Los Angeles Fashion Design Competition. Her work has also been featured in prestigious publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and The New York Times. From Manila to London to New York, Veejay Floresca’s career reflects her distinctive vision and passion for design. She continues to be an up-and-coming designer on the fashion scene who is growing bigger day by day.

Since graduating, Veejay Floresca has taken on the role of the family’s main provider. Her decision to open a studio from her apartment was not only a creative venture but also a strategic move. It allowed her to move her family to a better neighborhood and ensure her younger sister could attend a higher-quality school. Her father, who had a career in the legal field, passed away before she finished high school. Taking on financial responsibility at a young age, she has navigated multiple professional paths.
In 2022, Veejay proudly represented the Philippines at Miss Trans Star International in Barcelona, Spain, where she placed among the top 16 finalists. This milestone was not just a personal achievement but also a platform to further amplify her voice on issues close to her heart. As an advocate for transgender rights, equality, and anti-discrimination in her home country, she continues to use her visibility to challenge stereotypes and push for inclusivity. She is also organically growing her social media platforms, like YouTube and Instagram, to build a more dynamic profile for herself. Whether through content creation, public appearances, or community engagement, she has dedicated herself to uplifting others while ensuring her own family’s stability and progress.
