Vivieno Caldinelli’s upcoming film ‘Scared Shitless’ has concluded filming in Toronto, Ontario. The film revolves around “a father and son plumbing crew, who save the residents of an apartment building from a blood-thirsty creature that escapes into the plumbing system on Christmas Eve,” as per the official logline.
The filming commenced in Etobicoke, an administrative district in Toronto, on August 21, 2023, and went on for over two weeks. Toronto has an established film and television industry that makes it a preferred choice for the production of diverse projects. The city has earlier hosted the filming of several movies and shows such as ‘You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah,’ ‘The Umbrella Academy,’ ‘The Queen’s Gambit,’ ‘Good Will Hunting,’ ‘Suicide Squad,’ ‘The Shape of Water,’ and ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park.’
Caldinelli previously directed the 2018 black comedy film ‘Seven Stages to Achieve Eternal Bliss’ and the TV movie franchise ‘Bruno & Boots’ films. He also worked as a director of multiple episodes of the shows ‘This Hour Has 22 Minutes’ and ‘Baroness von Sketch Show.’ For the latter, Caldinelli earned the Canadian Screen Award for Best Direction, Variety or Sketch Comedy and the Directors Guild of Canada Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series, along with Joyce Wong in 2021. The filmmaker has also directed several short films including the 2015 adventure comedy ‘Portal to Hell!!!’ which won several accolades at various international film festivals.
The cast of the film has not been officially announced yet. However, the film is likely to star Steven Ogg, Julian Richings, Mark McKinney, Daniel Doheny, and Chelsea Clark. Ogg is known for his performances as Simon in ‘The Walking Dead’ and Sergeant Howard in ‘Emancipation,’ while Richings is famed for appearing as Bellanger in ‘The Claim’ and Three Finger in ‘Wrong Turn.’
McKinney’s popular roles include Glenn Sturgis in ‘Superstore,’ and Andy Mackinaw in ‘Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip,’ while Doheny stars as Alex in ‘Alex Strangelove’ and Liam in ‘Adventures in Public School.’ Clark’s other acting credits include Netflix’s ‘Ginny & Georgia,’ The CW’s ‘Kung Fu,’ and Family Channel’s ‘Degrassi: Next Class.’
