Channel 4 has added a thriller series to its upcoming slate! Moviedelic has learned that the network has greenlit the show, ‘In Flight,’ penned by the writing duo of Adam Randall and Mike Walden. The project, produced by Buccaneer Media, is slated to begin filming in Belfast, Ireland, in November. Chris Baugh is on board as the director. The plot of the show is currently under wraps.
Randall made his feature film debut with ‘Level Up,’ an action thriller starring Josh Bowman. The movie was followed by Netflix’s science fiction crime film ‘iBoy,’ featuring ‘Game of Thrones’ fame Maisie Williams. He had his breakthrough in 2019 with the feature film ‘I See You.’ The crime horror film, starring Helen Hunt, received critical acclaim and garnered nominations at events such as the Cleveland International Film Festival and the Paris International Fantastic Film Festival. He has also directed six episodes of Apple TV+’s thriller drama ‘Slow Horses’ and Netflix’s action drama ‘Night Teeth.’
Walden’s filmography includes works in a range of genres, from suspense to sci-fi. His writing credits encompass ‘Concordia,’ in addition to several episodes of ‘Whitstable Pearl,’ ‘The Frankenstein Chronicles,’ and ‘Marcella.’ He is known for crafting gripping narratives, as underscored by his screenplays for thrillers like ‘U Want Me 2 Kill Him?’ (2013) and ‘Doors Open’ (2012). The writer has also penned several short films, including ‘Gatillero’ and ‘Out There.’
Baugh, known for directing the action drama ‘Bad Day for the Cut’ and the vampire comedy ‘Boys from County Hell,’ is expected to bring his own vision and experience of helming thrilling narratives to ‘In Flight.’ In addition to several episodes of ‘Vera’ and ‘Tin Star,’ Baugh’s latest and most recent contributions can be witnessed in the horror-comedy series ‘Wreck.’
The show has joined the recently greenlit second seasons of ‘Tempting Fortune’ and ‘Millionaire Hoarders’ to add to Channel 4’s diverse television lineup.
Belfast, known for its historical and cultural significance, will most likely add an atmospheric backdrop to the upcoming thriller. The city previously hosted the shooting of the latest seasons of ‘Blue Lights,’ ‘Hope Street,’ ‘Dalgliesh,’ and ‘Showtrial,’ in addition to Kenneth Branagh’s acclaimed feature ‘Belfast.’
