Many people tend to lack enough information or practice when it comes to basic first-aid care, which is why former paramedic and firefighter Dustin Titzman founded Warrior Kid Medic in order to educate more people and make first-aid care more accessible. He, alongside his wife Michelle and their four children, stepped in front of the Sharks on the fifth episode of ABC’s ‘Shark Tank’ season 17, where they pitched their family business in order to get the Sharks on board and inspire the next generation of people to learn more about first aid care.
Warrior Kid Medic: Who Are They and What Do They Do?
In 2003, Dustin Titzman became a firefighter before becoming a paramedic in 2006. During his two decades of working at a professional fire department in Texas, the University of Texas graduate also became a member of the Army Reserve, a Blackhawk Pilot, and a Rescue Task Force instructor. Meanwhile, in 2012, his wife, Michelle, began a summer camp called Camp SkyWay, where they have been teaching basic wilderness first aid. After the birth of their own kids, Dustin and Michelle taught them the same, but in a more detailed manner.

When they went looking for a first aid kit in the market, they couldn’t find one with enough capability. Thus, Dustin took it upon himself to design a first aid kit, Warrior Kid Medic, to share the skills with not just his kids — Penelope, Everly, Adeline and Stokes — but also other people. To amplify the reach of the product, the couple also started running the Warrior Kid Medic program at Camp SkyWay. Given the success of the program at the summer camp, Michelle encouraged Dustin to start a family business with it and take it to camp industry trade shows.
Founded in Jourdanton, Texas, Warrior Kid Medic teaches kids to be self-helpers and act quickly during emergencies instead of panicking and being afraid. Through the business, the founder intends to turn everyone into responders in the face of emergencies, empowering people of all ages using simple tools and training provided by the product. Apart from offering first-aid tools, the Warrior Kid Medic also provides in-person training courses.
