‘A Royal Christmas Hope’ was reportedly filmed entirely in Kentucky, especially in the Louisville metropolitan area. According to reports, principal photography for the UPtv production got underway in early March 2025 and went on for a few weeks before wrapping up by the end of the same month. After the conclusion of the shooting process, Jenna Michno took to social media and stated, “This was a special one. Miss these people already. Look out for us next Christmas…”
Louisville Metropolitan Area, Kentucky
Several locations in the Louisville Metropolitan Area of Kentucky were utilized for the filming of ‘A Royal Christmas Hope.’ The cast and crew visited the city of Louisville in Jefferson County to create the backdrop for the heartwarming film. The tree-lined lanes, historic neighborhoods, quaint downtown streets, and diverse landmarks boast a timeless and nostalgic vibe. It also offers a lucrative tax incentive and cooperation from local authorities and residents for the smooth functioning of the shooting process. Therefore, the Gateway to the South proved ideal for exuding the festive charm required to convincingly double as New York City, New York, the setting for the film.
In addition to Louisville, a portion of the filming also took place in La Grange in Oldham County. The vibrant community is renowned for its rich railroading history and the CSX rail line that runs through the heart of the city. According to reports, the production team transformed Pillow and Paddock Bed & Breakfast at 3262 Old Sligo Road to serve as the family home of the non-profit founder, Julia Carter. The sequences in which she brings Prince Christopher to meet her parents and the conversations that follow were filmed at the country inn located on the 6-acre estate with a tranquil garden.

Jenna is not only a talented actor but also a writer who has worked on a couple of short films titled ‘Bathroom Talk’ and ‘Signing Out,’ and a miniseries called ‘Making It: The Series.’ She also served as the producer of all three aforementioned projects. As for Robert, he has showcased his directorial skills on several short films, including ‘Ashes,’ ‘Jimmy,’ ‘Something Wicked,’ and ‘Running Up That Hill.’
