Directed by Alex Winter, ‘Adulthood’ follows siblings Noah Robles (Josh Gad) and Megan Robles-Vargas (Kaya Scodelario), who visit their childhood home after decades and discover dead bodies buried in their parents’ basement. Stunned at the development, they conclude that their parents were serial killers and try to dispose of the bodies in a nearby stream. Soon, law enforcement gets involved, and so do other shady individuals who try to blackmail them with the situation. The serene suburban setting of the dark comedy drama film accentuates the thrill of the narrative as well as the personal stakes.
Adulthood Filming Locations
Principal photography for ‘Adulthood’ took place in Ottawa, Ontario, between May and June 2024. The scenes were captured in different locations across the east-central province bordering the US. One of the most populous regions of the country, Ontario also boasts a diverse landscape and vast geographical range, with lush agricultural areas along the south bordering the Great Lakes, a forested central region, and sub-arctic zones in the north.

‘Adulthood’ was filmed in and around the city of Ottawa in Ontario. Located along the Ottawa River, the vibrant city is the national political capital and is known for the amalgamation of urban and natural landscapes. The city boasts both Victorian and modern architecture, the scenic Rideau Canal, and a mix of English and French cultural heritage. Often known as Silicon Valley North, Ottawa is a technological hub and is home to a number of studios for film and television productions. The natural and man-made wonders of the region made it the ideal backdrop for the film, along with the availability of skilled human resources and utilities.
