Technology comes between organic and inevitable romance in Apple TV+’s ‘All of You,’ a sci-fi romantic drama movie co-written and directed by William Bridges. Brett Goldstein stars as Simon, who is the best of friends with Laura, portrayed by Imogen Poots. Although they have deep-seated romantic feelings for one another, neither of them confesses the same to the other. When a new special test that matches soulmates together comes out, it sends their life onto a completely different path as one of them gets matched with their supposed soulmate.
For the next twelve years or so, the distance increases between Simon and Laura, but their feelings don’t change. One of them must be brave enough to take control of their life and address the undeniable romance that has been brewing between them. The love story unfolds against beautiful backdrops of the open water and lush greenery of the countryside, making the narrative feel more grounded despite the near-futuristic plot.
All of You Filming Locations
The shooting for ‘All of You’ was carried out across England, especially in West Sussex and East Sussex. As per reports, principal photography for the romantic film took place around September 2023. Thanks to the vast and versatile landscape of England, it serves as an ideal filming site for different kinds of projects, including the William Bridges directorial.
West Sussex, England
In order to capture the overall vibe of the romantic tale, the production team of ‘All of You’ utilized the gorgeous locales of West Sussex, a ceremonial county situated in South East England. To shoot an intense conversational scene between Simon and Laura on a pier, they set up camp on Worthing Pier at 3AJ, Marine Parade in the town of Worthing. Open to the public ever since April 1862, the pleasure pier is a Grade II listed structure that has won Pier of the Year by the National Piers Society in 2006 and 2019.
Several of the countryside driving sequences involving Laura were lensed at the stunning Steyning Bowl, which is located on Bostal Road in the town of Steyning. Furthermore, the cast and crew members were reportedly spotted taping important scenes in the village of Pulborough, situated in the Horsham district of the ceremonial county. Besides ‘All of You,’ West Sussex has been featured in the backdrop of multiple movies and TV shows, including ‘The Theory of Everything,’ ‘The Young Victoria,’ ‘Downton Abbey,’ and ‘The Line of Beauty.’
East Sussex, England
A significant portion of ‘All of You’ was also shot in the ceremonial county of East Sussex. For shooting purposes, the filming unit took over the Seven Sisters Country Park on East Dean Road in the town of Seaford. Various outdoor sequences were also reportedly taped on the picturesque Beachy Head Road in the resort town of Eastbourne. In an interview with Moviefone, Brett Goldstein was asked about his onset working relationship with the director, William Bridges. He stated, “Well, he was brilliant because he had such a clear vision.”
Brett added, “I was really impressed because we’d written it together, so I had it in my head how I saw it, and what he did is not how I imagined it and it was so much better the way he had a clear style for it and a real visual eye, which is, I guess you would need for it to be visual. But he was great. I think he was very uncomfortable directing these scenes of a steamy nature. I think that was the only time where he thought, ‘I wish we weren’t friends today.'”
