Where is Anna Pigeon Filmed? All Shooting Locations

Based on Nevada Barr’s New York Times best-selling ‘Anna Pigeon’ novel series, USA Network’s ‘Anna Pigeon’ is a crime drama series created by Morwyn Brebner. The narrative chronicles the journey of a young woman named Anna Pigeon who enjoys her fast-paced city life. Unfortunately, her life gets upended when she suffers a heartbreaking personal loss, changing her perspective on life. In search of a fresh start and healing from the tragedy, Anna leaves the bustling city streets behind.

She becomes a park ranger, channeling her energy into solving mysterious crimes that engulf the solitude of national parks. Anna is joined by an FBI agent named Frederick Stanton, whose cool demeanor in the face of crimes keeps her motivated to get to the bottom of the cases, no matter the obstacles in her way. The adventurous tale of the titular character unfolds primarily in the wilderness and the crimes surrounding the vast, lush green grounds of national parks.

Anna Pigeon Filming Locations

The shooting for ‘Anna Pigeon’ takes place in Alberta, particularly in Greater Calgary and Bragg Creek. According to reports, principal photography for the inaugural iteration of the crime show got underway in late July 2025 and wrapped up after about four months in November of the same year. The cinematographer, Paul Sarossy, talked about his experience of filming in Alberta, stating, “…amazing time shooting ANNA PIGEON in the wilderness of Alberta..incredible team of Donovan Fraser, Graham Kennedy, Luke Towers, Marty Keough, Gary Winter AND many more..incredible team!”

Greater Calgary, Alberta

Thanks to the vast and versatile landscapes of Greater Calgary, the filming unit of ‘Anna Pigeon’ was able to depict them as US National Parks and lens pivotal outdoor sequences. To be specific, the town of High River served as a prominent production location as the cast and crew members took over the Highwood Centre, a historic event venue located in the heart of High River at 128 5 Avenue Southwest. It was temporarily redressed by the crew members by replacing the exterior signage to make it stand in for the fictional Copperhill Bank in the crime series. In the city of Calgary, they also set up camp in and around the Ranchman’s Cookhouse & Dancehall at 9615 Macleod Trail South, where they shot key indoor scenes.

Bragg Creek, Alberta

To fill the visual canvas of ‘Anna Pigeon,’ the production team also made the most of the natural and wild terrain of the hamlet of Bragg Creek, situated about 19 miles west of Calgary. They reportedly set up camp at the Bragg Creek Backlot, also known as Artek Backlot, located on Alliance Road off Highway 66. Opposite the backlot is the Easter Seals Camp Horizon at 1 Camp Horizon Road, which also served as a key shooting site for the Morwyn Brebner creation.

In the backdrop of several exterior shots, you are also likely to spot Mount Baldy. Furthermore, the filming unit took over a private luxury residence in Bragg Creek to shoot important interior sequences. Situated near Bragg Creek is Kananaskis Country, which also features in numerous portions. For instance, the cast and crew taped pivotal outdoor scenes around the McLean Creek Campground at 285 McLean Creek Trail and Canyon Creek Ice Cave.
