MTV’s ‘The Challenge Season 41: Vets & New Threats,’ for the first time, pits veterans of the reality competition show against “new threats,” AKA new faces. Hosted by TJ Lavin, Season 41 has 17 vets and 16 newbies, wherein a male and a female from each group are paired for every daily challenge. However, the contestants aren’t paired twice with the same person. The show, which is one of the longest-running reality shows on TV, has the participants testing their physical and mental strengths and capabilities while navigating the constantly changing alliances, betrayals, and threats to win a huge monetary prize. Like all previous seasons, Season 41 raises the stakes of the competition using its customized tasks set against “hardened” backdrops as well as providing the cast with lounge-worthy shelters to rest and revitalize themselves.
The Challenge Season 41 Filming Locations
‘The Challenge Season 41: Vets & New Threats’ was filmed entirely in Chile, specifically in Santiago de Chile, AKA Santiago. Principal photography reportedly took place in February 2025. The return of familiar faces, along with the new faces from other reality shows like ‘Love Island,’ ‘Too Hot to Handle,’ ‘Married At first Sight,’ ‘Canada Ultimate Challenge,’ and ‘Big Brother Australia,’ resulted in clash-of-titans-like scenarios, but at the same time formed strong bonds.
Santiago de Chile, Chile
The crew set up shop in Santiago de Chile, the capital city of Chile. For the challenge sites, the crew resorted to Laguna Carén, a lagoon/wetland in Pudahuel, and the Hacienda Santa Martina golf club at Santa Martina in Lo Barnechea. Clearly, the former was used for tasks involving water while the latter was utilized for tasks on land. While the communes of Pudahel and Lo Barnechea became the “base of operations” for the contestants, a house in the upscale neighborhood of Lo Curro in Vitacura became their place of stay. Located on a slope of the Cerro Lo Curro, the neighborhood is known for its lavish residential houses with pools, lounges, and stunning views of Santiago de Chile, one of which was chosen for the vets and new threats to rest and chalk out their strategies.
Santiago de Chile, AKA Santiago, is the center of the Santiago Metropolitan Region, in the country’s central valley. Nicknamed the City of the Island Hills, due to its landscape that comprises several standalone hills, Santiago is a global cultural metropolis. Not only does it boast top-tier restaurants, eateries, boutiques, and shopping centers, but it is also the only city in the world that lets people ski in the Andes. A bustling nightlife further adds to its charm. If you are planning a trip, hotspots you can visit include Mercado Central, Cerro San Cristóbal, San Cristóbal Hill, Santa Lucía Hill, Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago, Parque Forestal, and National Museum of Fine Arts. ‘007: Road to a Million’ and ‘Road Rules: X-Treme’ are among other reality shows filmed in Chile.
