Unfaithful relationships and disloyal partners are given a second chance in Netflix’s ‘Cheat: Unfinished Business.’ The British dating reality series revolves around eight former couples whose relationships ended due to cheating by one of the partners. With a chance to redeem themselves and give their relationship another shot, they are reunited at a luxurious retreat to confront one another about the underlying issues in their relationship.
Guided by the wisdom of relationship expert Paul C. Brunson, the ex-couples face their past mistakes and try to regain their partner’s trust. By the end, the faithful ones have the choice to trust the cheaters again or sever ties with them for good. Hosted by Amanda Holden, the show unfolds in a secluded property that not only provides the former couples with privacy but also the quiet to make a well-thought-out decision about their futures.
Cheat Unfinished Business Filming Location
Cheat Unfinished Business is filmed in Spirit of Son Fuster, a private estate & farm mansion located in Mallorca, Spain. From what we can tell, principal photography for the inaugural iteration of the reality show took place over the course of a couple of months, between May and June 2024. Despite the emotional challenges the participants went through, they were grateful for the experience. One of the participants, Liam Southward, shared his thoughts on being a part of the first season. He stated, “This show really had not just me but everyone on an emotional rollercoaster and by far is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do in my life!…I laughed, I cried and I prayed so so hard! But I thank everyone so much for the opportunity, as I cherish these memories for a lifetime.”
Spirit of Son Fuster, Spain
For taping ‘Cheat: Unfinished Business,’ the ex-couples and the rest of the crew members traveled all the way to the largest island of the Balearic Islands — Mallorca. Nestled in the middle of lush green mountains and at the foot of the Alaro twin mountains, the 14th-century manor house, Spirit of Son Fuster, is where all the relationship drama unfolded.
Spread across 40 acres, the full-service private estate offers more than just peace and quiet. It provides the guests with ten bedrooms, 24-hour world-class service, a cinema room, a library, a fully-functional gym, and a large pool area where one can soak in the sun and the surrounding mountains.
During their stay in the luxurious mansion, the participants and the crew members made the most of every corner of the property. The Spirit of Son Fuster made for an ideal filming destination as it provided different kinds of backdrops for different scenes involving the ex-couples. The gigantic mountains in the surrounding area highlighted the severity of problems in some of the relationships, while the serenity of the property symbolized the peace that the participants were striving for in their respective lives. Besides ‘Cheat: Unfinished Business,’ the island of Mallorca has also hosted the production of the popular dating show ‘Love Island.’
London, England
Several important scenes for ‘Cheat: Unfinished Business’ were also lensed across different areas in the capital of England and the United Kingdom — London. For instance, the Park’s Edge Bar and Kitchen at 49, 51 Norwood Road in London served as a key filming destination. In addition, the cast and crew members also set up camp in and around the Honor Oak at 1 St. German’s Road, One Marylebone at 1 Marylebone Road, and the Public House to shoot a few interior and exterior portions for the show.
Other Locations in England
For shooting purposes, the production team of the Netflix reality series also traveled to other areas in England, including the ceremonial counties of Tyne and Wear, Buckinghamshire, and Hertfordshire. The beachside eatery that makes an appearance in the show is none other than the Saltwater Beach Cafe at 111 Chalkwell Esplanade in Westcliff-on-Sea, Southend-on-Sea, which is located within the ceremonial county of Essex.
Wales, United Kingdom
Additional portions for ‘Cheat: Unfinished Business’ were also reportedly taped in the seaside resort of Barry Island in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales. Widely recognized for its beaches and Barry Island Pleasure Park, Barry Island used to be known as The Barry Island Resort when it was a holiday camp between 1966 and 1996. Places like Marco’s Cafe and Caesar’s Palace can likely be spotted in the backdrop of a few scenes.
