Dead Girl Summer: Filming Locations and Cast Details

Helmed by Patricia Frontain, the Lifetime thriller drama ‘Dead Girl Summer’ shows how the past always catches up. Best friends Avery and Jade return to their lakeside vacation home after graduating from college and reconnect with Will, their old friend/neighbor. Years have passed since their friend Mia’s tragic death, but the trauma still lives within them. Then, when Jade too disappears mysteriously, Avery realizes that the two incidents are connected and that someone is making her relive the horrifying summer. The only way for Avery to save Jade is to face the past and figure out what really happened to Mia. ‘Dead Girl Summer’ makes use of real locations to enrich the visuals with summer-time eeriness and uncanniness that comes with a feeling of familiarity.

Where was Dead Girl Summer Filmed?

‘Dead Girl Summer’ was filmed entirely in Arkansas, specifically in Fayetteville. Filming began in the last week of April 2025 and wrapped up by the end of the second week of May the same year, considering Lifetime’s usual 15-18-day schedule. The cast and crew had a blast on set, and since it is a ladies’ duet, the chemistry is palpable and true. The movie delves into a dark connection between past and present, and Fayetteville serves as the eerie crescent.

Fayetteville, Arkansas

Fayetteville, the county seat of Washington County, became the base for the production of ‘Dead Girl Summer.’ The city offers diverse backdrops, enabling the crew to opt for apt settings based on the script’s requirements. Historic homes, streets, downtown neighborhoods, the 70-plus parks, and the surrounding Boston Mountains all contribute to the richness and contrast. The city also boasts many filming studios, including the nationally recognized Rockhill Studios, which boasts a 4000 square feet sound stage among other state-of-the-art amenities. If you plan to visit Fayetteville, the following are a few tourist hotspots: Botanical Garden of the Ozarks, Lake Fayetteville Park, Walton Arts Center, Arkansas Air and Military Museum, and the Fayetteville Farmers Market.
