A Jeff Norton creation, Netflix’s ‘Finding Her Edge’ is based on the eponymous novel written by Jennifer Iacopelli. The teen sports series revolves around a struggling figure skating legacy of the Russo family and the lengths that the three Russo sisters go to save the dynasty. Out of them, the middle sister, 17-year-old Adrianna, is fresh off her relationship with Freddie, her former lover and partner on the ice. With the World Championships approaching, she is focused on training with her new partner, Brayden.
Despite still having feelings for her old partner, Adrianna pretends to be in a romantic relationship with her new partner to secure sponsorship and earn profits for the family rink. Her life gets complicated when she finds her heart stuck between Freddie and Brayden. Featuring Madelyn Keys, Harmon Walsh, Alexandra Beaton, Cale Ambrozic, Olly Atkins, and Meredith Forlenza, the romantic dilemma of Adrianna unfolds in a wide range of backdrops, including the ice rinks where she performs with her partner.
Finding Her Edge Filming Locations
‘Finding Her Edge’ is primarily filmed in Ontario, especially in and around Simcoe County. A few portions are also shot in Paris, France. From what we can tell, principal photography for the inaugural iteration of the teen drama series got underway in February 2025 under the working title ‘Precision’ and continued for about four months before wrapping up in June of the same year.
Simcoe County, Ontario
A major chunk of ‘Finding Her Edge’ was reportedly lensed across Simcoe County, situated in the central region of Ontario. To be specific, the cities of Barrie and Orillia doubled as the fictional small and quaint hometown of the protagonist. In order to depict that accurately, the filming unit set up camp at multiple sites in Barrie, including the campus of Georgian College at 1 Georgian Drive and the Eastview Arena at 453 Grove Street East. In March 2025, the cast and crew members were also spotted taping key outdoor scenes in and around Shannon Street off St. Vincent Street.
In the city of Orillia, several real-life establishments and businesses served as prominent production locations for the teen romantic drama series. For instance, in February 2025, the production team reportedly took over the premises of the Orillia Public Library at 36 Mississaga Street West and the Orillia Museum of Art and History at 30 Peter Street South. A couple of businesses — Apple Annie’s Cafe at 101 Mississaga Street East and Alleycats Music & Art at 95 Mississaga Street East — also hosted the production of the Netflix show. Several exterior scenes were also taped on Mississaga Street East between Peter Street South and Matchedash Street South.
In April 2025, a few pivotal sequences were also reportedly recorded in and around Wasaga Stars Arena at 544 River Road West in the town of Wasaga Beach. According to reports, the cast and crew members also traveled a bit south of Simcoe County to the city of Brampton for the purpose of shooting. Apart from ‘Finding Her Edge,’ Simcoe County has served as a filming site for movies like ‘The Heiress and the Handyman,’ ‘Hearts Around the Table: Jenna’s First Love,’ ‘Porcupine Lake,’ ‘Cottage Country,’ ‘After the Storm,’ and ‘All About Who You Know.’
Paris, France
Additional portions for ‘Finding Her Edge’ were also reportedly lensed in the bustling city of Paris, the capital of France. Home to the Eiffel Tower, the city’s popular landmarks and buildings also feature in the backdrop of numerous outdoor scenes and establishing shots, such as the Notre-Dame de Paris, the Palais Garnier, the Arc de Triomphe, the Basilica of Sacré Cœur de Montmartre, and more.
