In GAF’s ‘Meet Me in the Margins,’ we get acquainted with a competent editor named Savannah Cade, who works at a well-established publishing house. On the side, she is secretly writing a romance novel of her own as she dreams of becoming a published author. Surprisingly, she finds her hidden manuscript anonymously edited and critiqued in the margins. Following the notes’ advice, she rewrites her book and begins to fall in love with her anonymous manuscript editor.
In a shocking turn of events, the editor turns out to be none other than the new Vice President of the publishing house where she works. Now, Savannah has a tough choice to make — pursue true love and risk her professional career or play it safe and focus on her career. Helmed by Kelly Edwards, the romantic drama movie is based on Melissa Ferguson’s eponymous novel. The tale of romance primarily unfolds in the publishing house office, as the chemistry between Savannah and the VP turns the professional space into something personal.
Where Was Meet Me in the Margins Filmed?
‘Meet Me in the Margins’ was reportedly filmed entirely in New York State, particularly in Buffalo. Principal photography for the romantic film got underway on February 9, 2026, and continued for two weeks before wrapping up by the end of the same month. Melissa Ferguson, whose eponymous book served as the inspiration for the film, was also present on the set. She stated, “Wild to see MEET ME IN THE MARGINS becoming a movie. Seeing the wardrobe of all the characters meticulously organized and had to be approved and planned and everyone knowing and busy around my story really hit me.”
Buffalo, New York
In order to shape the visual landscape of ‘Meet Me in the Margins,’ the cast and crew visited Buffalo in Western New York. Several locations in the city were utilized to bring the story of the acquisitions editor’s romantic tale of chance to life. The city boasts a mix of cozy urban settings, distinctive historic architecture, picturesque neighborhoods, low production costs, attractive tax benefits and suitable weather conditions, which contribute to the visual appeal of the GAF production by lending it a warm and pleasant charm.
Over the years, Buffalo has established itself as a sought-after filming destination, offering filmmakers a versatile backdrop that can replicate the look and feel of several cities. It has hosted the production of a wide range of projects spanning multiple genres, including feature films, television shows, commercials and documentaries. Thus, like ‘Meet Me in the Margins,’ several romance-driven films like ‘Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story,’ ‘Housesitter,’ ‘Christmas at the Inn,’ ‘A Royal Christmas Holiday,’ ‘Blessings in Disguise,’ ‘Best Friends,’ ‘Chasing Christmas,’ ‘Have We Met This Christmas,’ and ‘There’s No Place Like Christmas,’ were shot in Buffalo.

The cast of ‘Meet Me in the Margins’ is led by the chemistry-filled performances of Merritt Patterson and Liam McIntyre, who help bring the romantic narrative to life. Both leads have had experience working as a producer/executive producer in a couple of projects. While Merritt has served as an executive producer for ‘A Vintage Christmas’ and ‘One Perfect Match,’ Liam has produced a 2007 short film titled ‘Shotgun!.’ Liam has also served as a writer in ‘Blood on the Game Dice.’

In ‘Meet Me in the Margins,’ Merritt Patterson steps into the role of Savannah Cade, an editor and an aspiring writer. You might find her face familiar because she stars in ‘One Perfect Match’ as Lucy Marks, ‘Catering Christmas’ as Molly Frost, ‘The Now’ as April Becker, ‘The Royals’ as Ophelia Pryce, and ‘Everyone is Doing Great’ as Sage. Throughout her decades-long career, she has showcased her talent in other projects too, including ‘Damaged,’ ‘Unbroken: Path to Redemption,’ ‘Gingerbread Miracle,’ ‘The Art of More,’ and ‘Ravenswood.’
Liam McIntyre as the VP
Liam McIntyre portrays the new Vice President of the prestigious publishing house and Savannah’s romantic interest in the GAF production. Widely known for his portrayals of Sotiris in ‘The Legend of Hercules,’ Vance in ‘Security,’ Ben Thurston in ‘Designing Christmas with You,’ and Chip in ‘This Little Love of Mine,’ he also lends his voice to the characters of several animated movies, shows, and video games, such as ‘Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths,’ ‘American Dad!,’ ‘Family Guy,’ ‘Gears of War 4,’ ‘Star Wars: Resistance,’ and ‘Koala Man.’
The romantic drama also features Charlene Amoia as Giselle, Marisa Brown as Lyla Brant, Austin Valli as Sam Swift, and Tamara Fay as Claire Shapiro.
