Helmed by Jeff Beesley, Hallmark’s ‘A Suite Holiday Romance’ is a Christmas romantic drama movie that follows a struggling writer named Sabrina Post, who seizes the opportunity to ghostwrite the memoir of a renowned art dealer named Grayson Westcott. Meanwhile, she believes him to be a member of the British aristocracy, but he actually is the personal secretary of Lord Spencer Braxton. His work involves supervising the installation of an exhibit at the Avalon Museum. Over the course of the week, Sabrina and Ian spend time together exploring New York and end up falling in love. The wholesome love story unfolds amidst the bustling streets of New York City, with the fictional Grand Fairbanks Hotel serving as the primary setting.

‘A Suite Holiday Romance’ was primarily filmed entirely in Manitoba, especially in and around Winnipeg. According to reports, principal photography for the Hallmark production commenced on April 21, 2025, under the working title ‘A Magical New York Christmas’ and wrapped up on May 9 of the same year.

A major chunk of ‘A Suite Holiday Romance’ was lensed across various parts of the city of Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba, and the surrounding areas. Primarily, the fictional New York-based Grand Fairbanks Hotel is depicted by the exteriors and interiors of the Fort Garry Hotel at 222 Broadway in Winnipeg. The filming unit took over the luxurious property and taped pivotal sequences in different spaces. They also incorporated the street-facing shots in the film to represent the hustle and bustle associated with the busy streets of the Big Apple.
In particular, the front entrance of the Fort Garry Hotel, along with its ballroom, reception, and banquet spaces, features in numerous scenes. Some of the guestrooms and suites also served as film sets for key indoor scenes. Officially known as the Fort Garry Hotel, Spa and Conference Centre, it has been a National Historic Site of Canada since 1981 and a Manitoba Provincial Heritage Site since 1990. Since several scenes were also taped in other parts of Winnipeg, it is likely that you might spot multiple landmarks and buildings in the backdrop, such as Saint Boniface Cathedral, Esplanade Riel bridge, the Manitoba Legislative Building, and 300 Main.
