An adaptation of Sarah T. Dubb’s book titled ‘Birding with Benefits,’ Hallmark’s ‘Adventures in Love & Birding’ revolves around an unlikely relationship between a single mother and a bird enthusiast. The Michael Robison is a romantic drama film that follows Celeste, a doting single mom who takes part in a birding competition, where she partners up with John, a handsome man passionate about birds. During the competition, she misunderstands her assignment and ends up telling others that she is not just John’s partner but his girlfriend. The romance between them is intensified as they spend more time with each other in the lush green wooded areas in search of birds.
Where Was Adventures in Love & Birding Filmed?
‘Adventures in Love & Birding’ was filmed in its entirety in British Columbia, particularly in Greater Vancouver and the surrounding areas. Principal photography for the Hallmark production got underway in the second week of May 2025 under the working title ‘Birding With Benefits’ and continued for a few weeks before wrapping up by the end of the same month or early June.
Lower Mainland, British Columbia
To paint the canvas of the adventures of Celeste and John in the film, the production team settled upon several spots in the Lower Mainland region in the southwestern part of the province of British Columbia. It boasts breathtaking scenery, comprising lush forests, flowing rivers, and scenic trails. The overall serene environment adds a sense of realism to the scenes wherein the pair wanders around the wilderness in search of birds. Not just that, it is also home to a wide variety of wildlife and bird species, with many birdwatching hotspots, which further make it an ideal backdrop for the birding competition in ‘Adventures in Love & Birding.’
For the purpose of filming, the cast and crew also visited multiple sites in Vancouver, a renowned filming destination in the region. Also known as Hollywood of the North, the port city is favored by not only Hallmark projects but also productions across the globe due to factors such as easy availability of talented cast, skilled technicians, first-rate production facilities, tax incentives, favorable weather, and metropolitan infrastructure and natural landscape that bear the capability to stand in for international locations. Therefore, it makes sense why it was chosen as the setting of the lighthearted Hallmark romance. Besides ‘Adventures in Love & Birding,’ the region has served as a production location for movies and shows like ‘The Wrong Paris,’ ‘An Unfinished Life,’ ‘Virgin River,’ and ‘Once Upon a Time.’
Adventures in Love & Birding Cast Details
The chemistry between Rachel Boston and Andrew W. Walker breathes life into the romantic story of ‘Adventures in Love & Birding.’ The former, besides acting, has also served as a producer for several movies, including ‘Check Inn to Christmas,’ ‘Love at First Dance,’ ‘A Gift of Miracles,’ and ‘Holiday High School Reunion.’ Just like his co-star, Andrew has also produced a few films, such as ‘The Reluctant Royal,’ ‘Stolen Seas,’ and ‘Oxalis.’
Rachel Boston as Celeste
Rachel Boston steps into the role of Celeste, the single mother, in ‘Adventures in Love & Birding.’ Hailing from Signal Mountain, Tennessee, she gained recognition for her role as Beth Mason in ‘American Dreams.’ She then bagged roles in different kinds of projects, including ‘500 Days of Summer’ as Alison, ‘Ghosts of Girlfriends Past’ as Deena the Bridesmaid, and ‘Witches of East End’ as Ingrid Beauchamp. You might also recognize her from other films and TV shows, such as ‘Debbie Macomber’s Joyful Mrs. Miracle,’ ‘A Christmas Cookie Catastrophe,’ ‘A Christmas in Tennessee,’ ‘SEAL Team,’ and ‘In Plain Sight.’
Andrew W. Walker as John
In the Hallmark film, Andrew W. Walker essays the character of John, the bird enthusiast and Celeste’s romantic interest. Making his debut on Hallmark with ‘A Bride for Christmas,’ he has been featured in more than 20 projects with the network, such as ‘A Dream of Christmas,’ ‘Bottled with Love,’ ‘The Perfect Catch,’ and more. Besides that, he is widely recognized for his portrayal of Michael Downey in ‘Steel Toes,’ Jack Carlson in ‘Abducted: Fugitive for Love,’ Rick in ‘The Torturer,’ and Kevin Jenner in ‘Snowed-Inn Christmas.’ Apart from the two lead actors, Talisa Mae Stewart also features in ‘Adventures in Love & Birding’ as Morgan.
