Newly engaged to George, Elizabeth is excited and looking forward to her wedding preparations, but before she ties the knot, she must throw an engagement party alongside her fiancé. However, with the arrival of George’s free-spirited brother, David, at his home, tensions and complications also come into Elizabeth’s life.
While planning for the big engagement party, she gets acquainted with David and forms a close friendship with him. This bond soon turns into romance as sparks begin to fly between them, making Elizabeth question her decision to spend the rest of her life with George. Where Was It Was Always You Filmed?
The shooting of ‘It Was Always You’ was carried out in its entirety in British Columbia, especially in Greater Victoria. As per reports, principal photography for the Hallmark production was completed over the course of nearly three weeks; starting from late November 2020 and wrapping up on December 18 of the same year. After the conclusion of the shooting, Erin Krakow said, “Picture wrapped last night and I’m feeling all the feels. This is going to be a special one!”
Greater Victoria, British Columbia
Also known as the Greater Victoria Region, it served as the primary production location for ‘It Was Always You.’ Throughout the shooting process, the filming unit reportedly set up camp at various locales and establishments across the region to shoot pivotal sequences and add more life to the movie. One of the most featured establishments in the Hallmark film is Chintz & Company – Victoria at 1720 Store Street in the city of Victoria. Not only did it double as Elizabeth’s apartment, but it also represented a bakery and the store where she makes her wedding list. As for the scenes involving David and George’s childhood home, they were taped inside a private property located in the municipality of Oak Bay.
Elizabeth and David run into each other for the first time at Chocolats Favoris, which is an actual chocolate factory franchise situated at 1010 Government Street. As the duo walks down Government Street, you might also be able to spot the exterior of Olde Tyme Candy Shoppe Victoria in the backdrop. A few other places that hosted the production of ‘It Was Always You’ are the area outside the Centre for Wellbeing at 324 Goldstream Avenue, Flying Otter Grill at 950 Wharf Street, and Ocean Boulevard. Furthermore, the production team took over an actual tree house in the forest in the district municipality of Saanich to shoot the scenes involving David’s tree house.

Erin Krakow portrays Elizabeth, the engaged woman who plans for her upcoming wedding, in ‘It Was Always You.’ After her impressive portrayal of Specialist Tanya Gabriel in ‘Army Wives,’ she bagged roles in different kinds of projects, including ‘When Calls the Heart,’ ‘Good Girls Revolt,’ ‘Castle,’ and ‘NCIS: Los Angeles.’ Erin also stars in various movies such as ‘Santa Tell Me,’ ‘The Wedding Cottage,’ ‘A Summer Romance,’ ‘Finding Father Christmas,’ and ‘Blind Date Book Club.’

In his decades-long acting career, he has showcased his versatility by taking up several challenging roles. You might recognize him from ‘Three Wiser Men and a Boy,’ ‘Len and Company,’ ‘It’s Christmas, Eve,’ ‘Winter in Vail,’ and ‘On the 12th Date of Christmas.’ He also has plenty of TV shows to his credit, including ‘Amazon,’ ‘Neverending Story,’ ‘Sophie,’ ‘Saving Hope,’ ’19-2,’ ‘Valemont,’ and ‘Letterkenny.’
Giles Panton as George
The award-winning actor, Giles Panton, essays the role of George, Elizabeth’s fiancé and David’s brother, in the romantic drama movie. Although he has been featured in projects like ‘Snowy with a Chance of Christmas,’ ‘The Man in the High Castle,’ and ‘Holidazed,’ he is widely recognized for lending his voice to animated characters in shows like ‘Ninjago,’ ‘Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction,’ ‘Marvel Battleworld: Treachery at Twilight,’ and ‘The Last Kids on Earth.’
