In Hallmark’s ‘She’s Making a List,’ we get acquainted with a consulting firm called the Naughty or Nice Group, which has been delegated the job of helping Santa Claus make a Naughty or Nice list with the help of an effective formula. As the holiday season approaches, it is the responsibility of one of the top inspectors of the firm, Isabel Haynes, to assess the children on her list and place them on the right side of the Naughty or Nice list.
11-year-old Charlie Duncan is one of the children she must evaluate. Expecting a routine case, her world turns upside down when she finds herself falling for Charlie’s handsome widowed father, Jason Duncan. Torn between following the strict rules of the firm and matters of her heart, Isabel must decide what’s more important for her. Originally titled ‘The Christmas Audit,’ the holiday romantic comedy movie is directed by Stacey N. Harding. The wholesome Christmas tale is set in a fantasy world, with most of the drama unfolding in the Duncan household and other decorated locations.
Where Was She’s Making a List Filmed?
Production on ‘She’s Making a List’ was conducted in its entirety in British Columbia, especially in Metro Vancouver. According to reports, principal photography for the Hallmark film got underway on July 14, 2025, under the working title ‘The Christmas Audit’ and went on for more than two weeks before wrapping up on August 1 of the same year. Since the movie was shot in the peak of summer, the cast and crew members had a hard time dealing with the heat, which was exacerbated by the layers of clothing they wore on set.

Filming of ‘She’s Making a List’ unfolded in a few locales in the Metro Vancouver Regional District. The port city of Vancouver, in the westernmost province of British Columbia, is where a significant portion of filming took place. Also dubbed Hollywood of the North (a colloquialism it shares with Toronto), Vancity has established a reputation as one of the major production hubs around the world. It boasts first-rate production studios, film-friendly policies, experienced crews, and a versatile landscape that can conveniently double up as a variety of settings. Interestingly, it remains one of the preferred shooting sites for Hallmark projects. Thus, it naturally lends itself as a convincing backdrop for Isabel’s world as well.
As the inspector for the Nice and Naughty List traverses around the neighborhood making her list, the movie also takes us through many locations, one of which is the Township of Langley. The sequence where the two kids are playing ball that hits a glass across the street was taped in Fort Langley, particularly outside the Coulter Berry Building at 9220 Glover Road. By choosing locations that enhance the holiday vibe, the production team created a visually enchanting environment that aligns with the seasonal and festive tone of ‘She’s Making a List.’ Over the years, movies like ‘The Nine Lives of Christmas,’ ‘Mrs. Miracle,’ ‘Trading Christmas,’ ‘Hitched for the Holidays,’ were also filmed in Fort Langley.

The romantic story of ‘She’s Making a List’ is brought to life by the impressive performances and onscreen chemistry of Lacey Chabert and Andrew Walker. What catapulted Lacey to fame is her breakthrough in a cough syrup commercial and her performance in the Broadway production of ‘Les Misérables.’ As for Andrew, he has also served as an executive producer/producer for ‘Three Wisest Men,’ ‘The Reluctant Royal,’ ‘Oxalis,’ and ‘Stolen Seas.’

In the Hallmark production, Lacey Chabert portrays Isabel Haynes, the Naughty or Nice Group inspector. Many of you might remember her as Gretchen Wieners in ‘Mean Girls,’ Penny Robinson in ‘Lost in Space,’ Amanda Becker in ‘Not Another Teen Movie,’ Dana in ‘Black Christmas,’ and Kira Slater in ‘Love on Safari.’ Her voice acting credits include ‘Harriet the Spy,’ ‘Young Justice,’ ‘Shimmer and Shine,’ ‘Family Guy,’ and more.

Andrew Walker steps into the character of Jason Duncan, Isabel’s love interest, in ‘She’s Making a List.’ Widely known for his portrayal of Michael Downey in ‘Steel Toes,’ the talented actor also plays the roles of Rick in ‘The Torturer,’ Kevin Jenner in ‘Snowed-Inn Christmas,’ Jack Carlson in ‘Abducted: Fugitive for Love,’ and Luke in ‘Three Wisest Men.’ He also features in multiple TV shows, such as ‘Stalker,’ ‘When Calls the Heart,’ ‘Against the Wall,’ and ‘Cuts.’
Moreover, Cadence Compton essays the role of Charlie, Jason’s 11-year-old daughter. While Alessandro Miro portrays Giuseppe, Steve Bacic features as Rudolph. Also, Dax Belanger plays the character of Santa.
