Based on the eponymous song by Lauren Spencer Smith, Hallmark’s ‘Single on the 25th’ is a Christmas romantic drama movie directed by Jonathan Wright. The narrative revolves around a discontented single woman named Nell Duke, who is forced to spend her holidays alone after her family cancels their reunion plans at the last minute. Trying to have fun in her own company, Nell encounters her financial analyst neighbor, Cooper, who takes pride in not needing someone to have a good time. He offers her his help and shares a few tips to enjoy Christmas and her own company.
Meanwhile, Nell’s company allows Cooper to have a different perspective and make him realize what he’s missing by avoiding real attachments. In the process, their friendship begins to grow into something more. However, when she realizes that he helped her only because he sympathized with her, the chemistry between them fizzles out. Now, it is up to Cooper to tell Nell how he really feels about her. Most of the story unfolds in the neighboring residences of the two lead characters as they figure out a way to make their holidays special. Moreover, the backdrop of Christmas lights and decorations adds more depth to the visual elements of the tale.
Where Was Single on the 25th Filmed?
Principal photography for ‘Single on the 25th’ reportedly commenced in late August 2025 and wrapped up more than three weeks later on September 21 of the same year. The entirety of the shooting took place in the province of Quebec, particularly in and around the city of Montreal. Upon the conclusion of production, Teneisha Collins took to social media and shared her experience. She stated, “My heart is so full after spending the past few weeks with this amazing cast and crew. I feel so lucky to have jumped into such a joyful project less than 48 hours after returning from Europe—and I don’t take that for granted.”

The city of Montreal served as the primary production location for ‘Single on the 25th,’ as the filming unit made the most of its vast and versatile locales to lens pivotal sequences. From the looks of it, the cast and crew members set up camp at a few sound stages of one of the film studios located in and around Montreal in order to tape the scenes involving the houses of Nell and Cooper. For recording the exterior shots, they took over numerous streets and neighborhoods, which they redressed with Christmas decor to match the setting of the narrative.
