Where is Hope Valley 1874 Filmed? All Shooting Locations

Serving as a prequel to ‘When Calls the Heart,’ Hallmark’s ‘Hope Valley: 1874’ is a Western drama series created by Alfonso H. Moreno. The narrative follows a single mother named Rebecca Clarke, who recently lost her husband. In order to start afresh and deal with her loss, she relocates from the bustling city of Chicago to the Western Canadian frontier with her 11-year-old daughter to establish a Gold Rush boarding house. However, during her journey, Rebecca’s wagon suddenly breaks down, leaving her stranded. Fortunately, a local rancher named Tom Moore comes to her rescue and helps her reach Hope Valley.

As she intends to remain unattached to the rest of the town and focus on herself and her daughter, the people she encounters in the town, including Tom and a woman named Hattie Quinn, make her reconsider her priorities and help her heal. Featuring impressive onscreen performances from Bethany Joy Lenz, Benjamin Ayres, Jill Hennessy, Roan Curtis, and Lachlan Quarmby, the tale of grief and renewed hope unfolds in the fictional Hope Valley, which serves as an additional character that helps Rebecca start afresh.

Most of the pivotal sequences for ‘Hope Valley: 1874’ were lensed in Greater Vancouver, which comprises the city of Vancouver and other surrounding areas. Following the pattern of ‘When Calls the Heart,’ the filming unit of its prequel set up camp in the Langley Township area to shoot various important scenes set in the fictional Hope Valley.
