I Am Your Biggest Fan: Filming Locations and Cast Details

Helmed by Haylie Duff, Lifetime’s ‘I Am Your Biggest Fan’ is a thriller movie that centers on a popular TV actress who becomes the target of a young fan’s delusions. Delilah Douglas is being harassed by strangers and is looking for a new place to stay. A young girl named Ellen, who claims to be her biggest fan, lets her stay at her place. However, upon arriving at Ellen’s home, Delilah is taken prisoner within the “set” Ellen has made inside her house. She is unwilling to let the actress go and is bent on having Chelsea, the character Delilah made popular, as a friend. Since the thriller narrative is almost entirely set within Ellen’s house and Delilah’s sitcom, the visuals play a significant role in showcasing the aspects of confinement and isolation.

Where Was Lifetime’s I Am Your Biggest Fan Filmed?

The filming of ‘I Am Your Biggest Fan’ took place entirely in Kentucky, specifically in Lexington. Principal photography began in the second half of August 2024 and lasted almost three weeks before wrapping on September 10, the same year. Upon completion, Duff took to social media, thanking the cast and crew. “Overwhelmed with gratitude as I wrap up this film. Thank you to my incredible cast, who brought Ellen & Delilah alive in a way I could have only dreamed. This CREW, who wholeheartedly cared & protected every tiny element of this story,” she stated.

Lexington, Kentucky

The city of Lexington in Fayette County, Kentucky, became the base for the shoot. Since a major portion of the film takes place indoors, the crew accessed the spaces of the LEX Studios, located at 425 Codell Drive. Many spots were turned into sets of vintage sitcoms for the scenes featuring the show that Delilah is a part of. Several scenes incorporating the office and board members were also shot in the production facility. It likely also served as a shooting site for taping the sequence wherein Delilah is held captive by Ellen.

With over 50,000 square feet of production space under a single roof, the LEX Studios is one of the biggest studios in Kentucky. It offers three stages, a 60’x40’ cyc wall stage in collaboration with Wrigley Media Group for green screen and VFX work, a fully equipped audio recording studio, nine edit bays with a remote collaboration facility, and two offline edit bays. A team of highly skilled professionals further aids in smooth production.

The additional outdoor scenes in the movie were seemingly filmed in various urban and rural areas around Lexington as well. The city’s urban landscape helps emphasize the modern narrative of obsessed fanhood. On the other hand, the green pastures provide a soothing contrast to the film’s visual canvas. The art team successfully blended the aesthetics of the indoor and outdoor scenes, including those shot at night, in a way that highlights the visuals while maintaining the story’s mood. Lexington also served as the setting for Lifetime’s ‘Murder at the Derby‘ and ‘Lethal Desire.’
