I Killed Him in My Sleep: Filming Locations and Cast Details

Based on Marissa Finch’s ‘Don’t Fall Asleep,’ Lifetime’s ‘I Killed Him in My Sleep’ acquaints us with Kelty Crawford, a millennial bride-to-be who is not only struggling financially but also unsure about her career. With her expensive wedding looming, she decides to enroll in a sleep-study experiment to earn some extra money. Soon after taking part in the experiment, Kelty begins having a vivid nightmare, wherein she kills someone, has a blood-stained knife in her hand, and hears someone accusing her of murder.

What makes things all the more complicated is when her nightmare turns into reality, as a man goes missing the following day in real life. The mystery behind the disappearance of a man from her dream forces her to pursue the truth and confront some dark secrets that are seated deep within. Helmed by Katie Boland, the thriller drama movie utilizes a wide range of visuals to bring the narrative to life, including the protagonist’s home, the therapist’s office, and the clinic where the sleep-study experiment takes place.

Where Was I Killed Him in My Sleep Filmed?

Production on ‘I Killed Him in My Sleep’ took place in its entirety in British Columbia, particularly in and around the city of Vancouver. Principal photography for the Lifetime thriller got underway in September 2025 under the working title ‘Don’t Fall Asleep’ and continued for a couple of weeks before wrapping up by the end of the same month. The director, Katie Boland, admitted that the film was “pretty wild to write and direct.” She added, “…I had the best cast and crew help me tell this crazy story and I’m so grateful for all your hard work. Thank you to @abbeymacs and TF1 studio for having me.”

‘I Killed Him in My Sleep’ was extensively lensed in Vancouver, also known as Hollywood North. The establishing shots of the city feature various buildings and landmarks associated with Vancouver, such as Living Shangri-La, the Paradox Hotel Vancouver, Vancouver House, Harbour Centre, and more. In order to tape the scenes set inside the clinic where Kelty participates in the sleep-study experiment, the cast and crew either set up camp in an actual establishment or took over a sound stage at one of the film studios located in or around the city.

Other indoor scenes, involving the therapist’s office and Kelty’s home, were also seemingly shot utilizing the premises of real-life properties. The production team of the thriller film also transformed several streets in Vancouver to record outdoor scenes, including the nightmare that Kelty envisions. According to reports, the city of Maple Ridge also served as a prominent production location for the Katie Boland directorial. Besides ‘I Killed Him in My Sleep,’ Vancouver and the surrounding areas have hosted the production of multiple movies and shows, such as ‘Double Jeopardy,’ ‘Heretic,’ ‘Longlegs,’ ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines,’ ‘The Killing,’ ‘The Hunting Party,’ and ‘The Night Agent.’

The suspenseful tale of ‘I Killed Him in My Sleep’ is brought to life by the impressive onscreen performance of Abigail Breslin. The Academy Award-nominated actor has also served as a director for several episodes of ‘Hitbaby’ and ‘The Cannibals.’ Abigail has also executive-produced a few short films, including ‘Magda,’ ‘The Liars of Black Mountain Road,’ and ‘As Easy As Closing Your Eyes.’

Abigail Breslin steps into the role of Ketly Crawford in the Lifetime production. Widely recognized for her portrayals of Olive in ‘Little Miss Sunshine,’ Maya Hayes in ‘Definitely, Maybe,’ Bo Hess in ‘Signs,’ Jean Fordham in ‘August: Osage County,’ Zoe in ‘No Reservations,’ Emile Rose in ‘The Ultimate Gift,’ and Little Rock in ‘Zombieland.’ She also features in several TV shows, including ‘Scream Queens,’ ‘Accused,’ ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ and ‘Ghost Whisperer.’
