Helmed by Damián Romay, Lifetime’s ‘Abducted in the Everglades’ is a thriller drama movie about the misadventures of an Indiana-based mother named Beverly and her college-going daughter, Carly. The mother-daughter duo’s otherwise ideal life is turned upside down when the latter goes on a Spring Break trip all the way to Miami, Florida. What was going to be a memorable trip for her turns into a nightmare when she goes missing.
When the news of her disappearance reaches Beverly, she flies down to Miami and embarks on a search for her daughter. With the assistance of a local boatman named Ray, she treads through the wilderness as she races against time to rescue her daughter before it’s too late. Originally titled ‘Lost in the Everglades,’ the film unfolds in the city of Miami and the Everglades, where Carly disappears. The dense wilderness serves as an additional character as it presents threats of its own in the path of Beverly.
Where Was Abducted in the Everglades Filmed?
The shooting for ‘Abducted in the Everglades’ was carried out primarily on location in Florida, especially in the Miami metropolitan area. Under the working title ‘Lost in the Everglades,’ principal photography for the Lifetime production reportedly commenced in the first week of November 2024 and wrapped up after about three weeks within the same month. By the end of the shoot, one of the cast members, Tori Spelling, described her time on set as “an epic adventure—think alligators, wild airboat rides, and a mom on a mission.”
The production assistant, Nelly Barreto, expressed her gratitude towards the cast and crew members for making her first ever experience as a Production Assistant a memorable one. She shared, “It was really cool working with amazingly talented individuals while exploring some truly wild and unforgettable locations. This was my 1st time being a PA, and I couldn’t be more grateful for this incredible experience. It was awesome working with such a very talented crew. Can’t wait to see the film!”
Miami Metropolitan Area, Florida
For the purpose of shooting, the production team of ‘Abducted in the Everglades’ set up camp in the Miami metropolitan area, which is located in the southeastern region of the state of Florida. Several pivotal sequences, both interior as well as exterior, were reportedly lensed in the coastal city of Miami, which is the core of the metropolitan area. The scenes set in the bustling streets of Miami were seemingly shot on location in different neighborhoods.
As for the Everglades scenes, the filming unit took over certain areas of the actual Everglades National Park, which is known as the largest subtropical wilderness in the nation. The national park is an international treasure that keeps several rare and endangered species like the manatee, American crocodile, and the Florida panther, protected. From what we can tell, the cast and crew had at least one encounter with a crocodile while shooting scenes in the Everglades.

‘Abducted in the Everglades’ is packed with a talented slew of actors, with Tori Spelling, Tommi Rose, and Nick Ballard appearing in pivotal roles. Interestingly, Tori also serves as an executive producer on the movie. Not just that, she and Nick are part of the ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ franchise. The collaborative efforts of the cast members add a layer of relatability and emotional depth to the narrative.
Tori Spelling as Beverly
In the Lifetime production, Tori Spelling plays the role of Beverly, a mother who moves heaven and earth in search of her daughter following her disappearance. She is widely recognized for her portrayal of Donna in ‘Beverly Hills, 90210,’ for which she also received several accolades. Her work in ‘The Help’ as Molly the Dog Walker, Lesly in ‘The House of Yes,’ Katherine in ‘Trick’ as well as Alex in ‘Scary Movie 2’ has garnered her immense fanbase. Aside from that, Tori has made an appearance as herself in ‘Scream 2,’ ‘BH90210,’ ‘Blossom’ and the sitcom ‘So Notorious,’ which is loosely based on the ups and downs of her life.
Nick Ballard as Ray
Nick Ballard essays the character of the local boatman Ray, who assists Beverly in pursuit of her young daughter in ‘Abducted in the Everglades.’ You may recognize him from his performance in ‘Too Close to Home’ as Dax, ‘Deviant Love’ as Whit, ‘VHYes’ as Nick, ‘The Haves and the Have Nots’ as Scott, ‘The Spruces and the Pines’ as Rick Spruce and ‘Psycho Escort’ as Miles. Nick’s other credits include ‘Love by Drowning,’ ‘Little Black Lie,’ ‘Holliston,’ ‘Days of Our Lives,’ ‘Bones,’ ‘Valentine,’ and ‘90210.’
Tommi Rose as Carly
The thriller film also features Tommi Rose as Carly, Beverly’s free-spirited daughter who goes missing while on a spring break in Miami. Florida. She kickstarted her television journey with a compelling performance as Emma Scott Fitzgerald in ‘In Sanity, Florida,’ which helped her bag the role of Simone in ‘I Am Frankie.’ Tommi made quite a splash at the Catalina Film Festival in 2021 when she won the Crest Award for Best Breakthrough Actor for her portrayal of Lilath in ‘A Savannah Haunting.’ She has amassed a solid fanbase since then, having shows and movies like ‘Outer Banks’ as Larissa, ‘Sweet Magnolias’ as Olivia Harris, ‘Catch a Killer’ as Peggy, and ‘Will Trent’ as Lilly to her credit.
Joseph Cannon as Luke
The Lifetime movie stars Joseph Cannon as Luke, the suspicious ex-boyfriend of Carly who is likely involved in her disappearance. He is best known for enacting the characters of Toby Bass in ‘Law & Order’ and Arlo James in ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.’ Joseph’s acting prowess is also put on full display in ‘The Chair’ and ‘Archive 81,’ where he appears as the Hoodied Student/Library Student and Intern, respectively. You can also spot him in ‘Dear Zoe’ and ‘Beyond the Lake.’
Aside from the aforementioned cast members, ‘Abducted in the Everglades’ also features ‘Welcome to Chippendales’ and ‘And Just Like That…’ star Nick Flaig as well as ‘How to Frame a Family’ and ‘The Still of the Night’ fame Nikki Nunziato, who each play an integral role in the narrative of the thriller film.
