Based on the true story of the titular woman, Lifetime’s ‘Abducted: The Carlina White Story’ is a biographical drama movie that centers on Carlina Renae White, a newborn who is admitted to the Harlem Hospital in New York by her parents, Joy White and Carl Tyson. However, the 19-day-old child is abducted by Ann Pettway, who has been struggling to have a child of her own. Although Ann raises Carlina as Nejdra “Netty” Nance, like her own blood, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, she keeps the dark secret concealed from her.

Meanwhile, Carlina’s biological parents have been searching for her for several years. When she comes of age, she starts to doubt whether or not Ann was her birth mother. As she delves deep into the matter, she learns the truth and reunites with her biological parents with the help of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. A majority of the Vondie Curtis-Hall directorial unfolds in a suburban neighborhood of Bridgeport, Connecticut, where Carlina grows up unaware of the truth about her kidnapping.

According to reports, the shooting for the biographical drama was conducted over the course of a few weeks in the summer of 2012, commencing in early July and concluding in the same month itself.
