Directed by Wendy Ord, Lifetime’s ‘Do Exactly As I Say’ is a crime thriller film that centers on a private chef named Helen, who is employed by a tech billionaire, the owner of a clean energy company. All’s going well for her until her beloved daughter is kidnapped by a mysterious individual, who doesn’t want money in exchange for the safety of her daughter. Instead, the kidnapper demands that Helen reveal her billionaire employer’s embarrassing details of his personal life and the truth about his business. Now, it is up to Helen to decide if she is willing to get blood on her hands in order to rescue her abducted daughter. As the fast-paced story involves multiple locations, the backdrops and visuals play a critical role in setting the pace and enhancing the quality of the narrative.
Do Exactly As I Say Filming Locations
The shooting of ‘Do Exactly As I Say’ took place in its entirety in British Columbia, particularly in Kelowna. According to reports, principal photography for the thriller commenced around early April 2025 and went on for a few weeks before wrapping up in the same month. Situated between the Pacific Ocean and the Rocky Mountains, British Columbia provides a dynamic setting that makes it an ideal filming site for all kinds of movies.

For the purpose of shooting, the production team of ‘Do Exactly As I Say’ set up camp in Kelowna, situated on Okanagan Lake. Making the most of the city’s vast landscape, the cast and crew members lensed various scenes in different neighborhoods and streets. In order to tape several indoor and outdoor sequences, they supposedly took over a few actual properties in Kelowna and transformed them into film sets for a few weeks. They also seemingly recorded a few important scenes on a sound stage in one of the film studios located in and around the city.
In the establishing and exterior shots of the thriller movie, many popular landmarks and places of attraction feature in the backdrop, including the William R. Bennett Bridge, Okanagan Lake, Mission Hill Family Estate, Kelowna Art Gallery, Apple Bowl, and Prospera Place. Apart from ‘Do Exactly As I Say,’ Kelowna has served as a prominent production location for many film and TV projects, such as ‘A Wife’s Nightmare,’ ‘A Score to Settle,’ ‘Girl in the Attic,’ ‘A Mother’s Nightmare,’ ‘Have You Seen My Son?,’ ‘Tiny House of Terror,’ and ‘My Mom Made Me Do It.’

Erin Karpluk essays the role of Helen, the private chef of a billionaire, in ‘Do Exactly As I Say.’ Popularly known for her role as Erica Strange in ‘Being Erica,’ Erin also features in several other TV shows, including ‘Holly Hobbie’ as Katherine Hobbie, ‘A Million Little Things’ as Anna Benoit, ‘Smoke’ as Reba Daniels, ‘Slasher’ as Kaili Greenberg, and ‘Rookie Blue’ as Juliet Ward. Widely recognized for portraying David Cullen in ‘The Night Agent,’ he also stars in ‘The Last of Us,’ ‘Trial & Error,’ ‘Motherland: Fort Salem,’ and ‘Riverdale.’ He also features as Coach Pierre in ‘Curious Caterer: Foiled Plans’ and Gordon in ‘A Whirlwind Wedding.’
