Inspired by true events, Lifetime’s ‘I Won’t Let You Go’ is a 2022 thriller-drama movie directed by Meeshelle Neal. The narrative centers on Angela West, who leads a fulfilling and content life with her devoted husband, Keith. Her dreamy, picture-perfect life starts to unravel unexpectedly when her ex-boyfriend, Tyler, sends her a bouquet of flowers with a note that says, “I’ll be watching.” In the following days, Tyler begins stalking her and plans to ruin her life. To stay safe, Angela counts on her husband and tells him about the situation. However, in spite of her best efforts to keep her stalker at bay, he doesn’t stop making her life a living nightmare. Where Was I Won’t Let You Go Filmed?
The shooting for ‘I Won’t Let You Go’ was conducted in its entirety in Ontario, particularly in and around Hamilton. From what we can tell, principal photography for the thriller got underway in the second week of October 2021 under the working title ‘My Loving Stalker’ and continued for more than two weeks before wrapping up in late October 2021. With the premiere date approaching, Paniz Zade took to social media and recounted her days on set. She stated, “our fearless bossass director @meeshelleneal she pulled off 14 hour shoot days with some diva leading lady in the thick of COVID…Needless to say, I had an absolute blast on this one and I owe it to the incredible cast & crew. They were a dream.”
Hamilton, Ontario
All the pivotal sequences for ‘I Won’t Let You Go’ were reportedly lensed in the port city of Hamilton, situated on the western end of the Niagara Peninsula in Southern Ontario. In order to tape the scenes set in Angela’s home, the production team seemingly utilized the premises of a real-life property or a sound stage of one of the film studios located in or around Hamilton. Meanwhile, they set up camp in different streets and neighborhoods of the city to shoot important exterior scenes.
