When her mother tragically passes away, she inherits the family’s old Montana ranch. Still grieving the loss of her mother, Romy moves into the property, unaware that it harbors some buried family secrets. While digging a garden in the backyard of the ranch, she makes the haunting discovery of human remains. What shocks her more is the fact that they belong to none other than her long-missing sister. As she digs deeper into the mysteries behind the ranch and her family, Romy uncovers secrets tied to her estranged father and an intense rivalry with another family. The mysterious tale of the thriller drama movie unfolds in and around an old ranch in rural Montana, which serves as an additional character in the narrative.
Where Was Secrets on the Ranch Filmed?
The shooting for ‘Secrets on the Ranch’ was conducted in the province of Ontario, specifically in and around the city of Ottawa. From what we can tell, principal photography for the Adrian Langley directorial commenced in June 2025 and concluded within the same month after 12 shooting days. After the shooting was wrapped, Xavier X. Sotelo took to social media and expressed his gratitude for being a part of the film. He wrote, “And…that’s a project wrap. Once again, in that liminal state. Words are never enough. Love for cast and crew beyond measure!”
Ottawa, Ontario
Almost the entirety of ‘Secrets on the Ranch’ was taped in and around Ottawa, the capital city of the nation, located in the southern portion of Ontario. The filming unit set up camp on the outskirts of the city, which doubled as rural Montana. They took over a real-life ranch in the area and redressed it as Romy Taylor’s inherited family ranch. The quaint and scenic area of Ottawa’s countryside regularly features in the backdrop of several outdoor sequences.
From what we can tell, the cast and crew members also traveled a few miles out of Ottawa to the small town of Luskville, where they lensed additional portions for the thriller drama. Apart from ‘Secrets on the Ranch,’ Ottawa has hosted the production of numerous movies and TV shows over the years, including ‘The Blackcoat’s Daughter,’ ‘I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House,’ ‘House at the End of the Street,’ ‘Blood and Snow,’ ‘MatchMaker Mysteries: A Killer Engagement,’ and ‘No Easy Days.’

Camille Stopps and Jesse Collins bring the suspenseful story of ‘Secrets on the Ranch’ to life through their impressive onscreen performances. Apart from being a talented actor, Camille is also a professional dancer who earned a degree from Ryerson’s Performance Dance program. She has also served as a choreographer in ‘Trader.’ As for Jesse, he has served as a producer for several short films, including ‘Fresh Start,’ ‘Downward Dogs,’ and ‘The Shooting of Dan McGrew.’

In ‘Secrets on the Ranch,’ Camille Stopps plays the character of Romy Taylor, the divorced woman who takes over her family’s ranch in Montana. Many of you might recognize her as Najik in ‘Killjoys’ and Tara Williams in ‘The Love Club.’ However, she also features in various other movies and TV shows, including ‘Soul’s Road’ as Lindsay Carter, ‘Deadbolt’ as Melinda, ‘Beginner’s Luck’ as Holly, ‘Trapped with My Husband’ as Melissa, ‘Running with Violet’ as Simone, and ‘Note to Self’ as Savannah.’

Jesse Collin steps into the role of Brody Slater in the Lifetime production. ‘The Revenant’ fame has plenty of popular TV shows to his credit, including ‘The Recruit,’ where he portrays Dodge, and ‘Fargo,’ where he essays the character of Officer Garfield. He also stars in other shows like ‘Murdoch Mysteries,’ ‘Mayor of Kingstown,’ and ‘Adulting: Year One.’
