The production for ‘The Killer is Calling’ was carried out in its entirety in Ontario, specifically across Toronto. According to reports, the principal photography for the thriller film commenced in early September 2024 and went on for more than a couple of weeks before getting wrapped up within the same month. After the amazing shoot concluded, Janaya Stephens took to social media and opened up about the experience. She said, “Well, that’s a wrap on the biggest role of my career to date! It will be months before I get to see the finished product. I can’t wait to see what the Director and the editor and everyone else involved do with all the footage that we have shot. The sad part is letting go of this character that I love so much. But the happy news is I am home I get to hug my children soon and I can’t wait to see what’s next.”

All the pivotal sequences for ‘The Killer is Calling’ were shot in and around Toronto, the capital city of Ontario. Also known as Hollywood North, it is home to many film studios, such as Pinewood Toronto Studios, Cinespace Studios Toronto, Revival Film Studios, Dufferin Gate Studios, and TriBro Studios. From what we can tell, the production team utilized the facilities of one of them to lens several important scenes, both interior as well as exterior.
Reports suggest that the cast and crew members conducted a couple of overnight shoots to tape key night portions for the thriller. Shooting in Toronto left a memorable impact on all of them, especially Janaya Stephens. She described it as “one of the most amazing experiences” she has had in her acting career. The actor elaborated, “Sometimes we forget that a scene that we shot first thing in our day was the same day.
