Co-written and directed by Roxanne Boisvert, Lifetime’s ‘The Perfect Killer’ is a crime thriller drama movie that revolves around a young woman named Charlie and the mysterious complications between her parental figures. When Charlie makes a desperate phone call to her father, Jack, and stepmother, Mila, the former unhesitantly heads to the site where she called from. Instead of her, he meets with his death as he is fatally shot by someone in the shadows. Worried and concerned, Mila is shocked when Charlie arrives home unharmed and reveals that she was not the one on the other side of that phone call.
When the news of Jack’s death broke, the stepmother-daughter duo realizes that they were tricked by an AI voice scam. In such difficult times, Charlie reconnects with her estranged birth mother, Alyssa, who tells her all about her past. Things get more complicated when Mila is attacked, and several truths about Jack come to light. Not only were Jack and Mila in the middle of getting divorced but he was also involved in an extramarital affair. As the investigation is going on, Charlie doubts if her father’s killer is someone close to the family.
Where Was The Perfect Killer Filmed?
‘The Perfect Killer’ was filmed in its entirety in Ontario, especially Ottawa. As per reports, the principal photography for the Lifetime thriller took place over the course of a few weeks in the summer of 2024, from July to August of the same year, under the working title ‘Deadly Connection.’ As the premiere date approached, JaNae Armogan took to social media and shared several BTS moments, saying, “here is the behind the scenes on set for the film #ThePerfectKiller so thankful to have had this opportunity and be a part of an amazing ✨🥳💜💚🙏🏾cast and crew.”

The capital city of the Great White North — Ottawa — served as the primary production location for ‘The Perfect Killer.’ Situated in the southern portion of Ontario, the city boasts diverse landscapes that helped the filming unit find suitable backdrops for all the pivotal sequences. Thus, the cast and crew members were spotted taping several important scenes in different streets and neighborhoods, with multiple buildings in the backdrop. In order to shoot interior scenes, they supposedly took over actual establishments or residential properties and made them double as certain characters’ houses.
