In Hallmark’s ‘Lost in Paradise,’ we meet Sophia, the founder of a high-end fashion company, and a chef named Max, both of whom get stranded on a deserted island after their flight makes an emergency landing. With no other option but to survive until help arrives, the two start making do with whatever they can get their hands on to make the most of their time on the beautiful island. From crash courses in seafood to snacks with snakes to hill climbing to sleeping on leaves, the list is long. In the meantime, romance blooms and everything starts to look better, turning their survival endeavor into a gorgeous tropical adventure. The island itself serves as a character in the Dustin Rikert directorial, lending a sense of isolation, yet not without the warmth that is a signature of Hallmark.
Where Was Lost in Paradise Filmed?
‘Lost in Paradise’ was filmed on location in Fiji, Melanesia, and in Los Angeles, California. Principal photography reportedly began in the last week of August 2024 and lasted approximately three weeks, concluding by the last week of September of the same year. Fiji served as the primary shooting location while Los Angeles was utilised for additional photography. “During an interview with Good Morning America, Chabert stated how the experience was “magical…I mean the most incredible people, so kind, so welcoming.”

Fiji, a popular island country in Melanesia, served as the primary production location for ‘Lost in Paradise.’ The scenes featuring the jungle, hills, and blue waters are all real and have been used to highlight the beauty of the place, which complements the blossoming romance between Sophia and Max. “The first day I showed up on set, we had to use a rope to climb up the side of a mountain to get to our set. I was like Okay, this one’s going to be an adventure!” Chabert told Good Morning America. She also mentioned facing her fear of snakes. ““When I showed up on set, and there were not one but five snakes. I was counting them the entire time: I’m keeping my eye on all of you…I actually faced my fear, and I ended up holding a snake by the end of the day,” she added. Clearly, the actress had two adventures, one reel and the other real.
Other Hallmark movies, such as ‘A Summer to Remember’ and ‘Pearl in Paradise,’ have also used Fiji as their backdrop, making it a trustworthy filming location for an adventurous love story. Moreover, the skilled local crew and the attractive incentives make it perfect for filming on budget. Fiji comprises an estimated 330 islands and is one of the most popular tourist destinations across the world, with cities like Lautoka and Nadi in the island of Viti Levu deserving special mention.
Los Angeles, California
The Southern Californian city of Los Angeles is where the additional sequences of ‘Lost in Paradise’ were filmed. The modern amenities, state-of-the-art equipment, and abundance of resources of the home of Hollywood naturally make it one of the best locations in the world for filming. The scenes requiring alteration of the background using green screens were also seemingly shot in LA.
