Created by Chris Coelen, Netflix’s ‘Love is Blind’ is a dating reality show where single and attractive men and women come searching for true love. In season 9 of the social experiment, we get acquainted with 32 new single participants who go on dates with one another, but with a wall separating them. As they build a solely emotional connection without knowing anything about the physical appearance of the other person, the pairs get engaged, and only then get to see each other.
The engaged couples then head to an exotic destination where they get to spend time and know each other better. They must test the strength of their relationship in the real world and all the challenges that come with it. By the end, they must decide if they want to take the walk down the aisle or walk home single. The different settings, including those of the pods and the getaway phase, highlight the different stages of the couples’ relationships throughout the season.
Love is Blind Season 9 Filming Locations
The shooting for ‘Love Is Blind’ season 9 was carried out in California, Colorado, and Mexico, especially in Santa Clarita, Denver, and Todos Santos. From what we can tell, principal photography for the ninth installment of the long-running dating series seemingly took place in the summer of 2024, over the course of a couple of months or so.
Santa Clarita, California
A significant portion of the ninth installment of ‘Love Is Blind’ was taped in Santa Clarita, California. Shooting particularly took place at LA North Studios, a name that appropriately reflects its proximity to the City of Angels. Starting with season 2, the sequences set in the pods have been filmed right here at the production complex, seemingly Stage 7 or 8 — The Ranch at 21401 Needham Ranch Parkway. Thus, all the conversations and interactions between the cast members of season 9, as they got to know each other and gradually developed emotional bonds, were filmed in the pods at the facility. Utilizing the space and services of the studio not only gave the production team more control over the technical aspects as participants explored their connections but also ensured a seamless filming process with minimal interruptions.
Todos Santos, Mexico
Filming of the getaway sequences of season 9 was carried out at various locations in Todos Santos in Baja California Sur, Mexico. As the participants came face-to-face following their time in the pods, they spent a considerable amount of time testing their connection, hoping that it would translate beyond the pods. Thus, all the initial curiosity, tension, jealousy, romance, and other layers of interpersonal drama unfold across beaches, candle-lit dinners, relaxing pool sessions, and other leisure zones in the lively coastal city. Often dubbed Magic Town, Todos Santos is renowned for its charming architecture, rich historical significance, vibrant atmosphere, spirited art scene, delectable culinary offerings, serene beaches, and other picturesque locales.
Denver, Colorado
The cast and crew of ‘Love Is Blind’ season 9 visited Denver, the capital city of Colorado, to lens the day-to-day events in the lives of the participants as they stepped into the real world and navigated the ups and downs as a regular couple. From morning routines to sharing meals to going to bed together, many spots in the city served as the backdrop for the dynamic transitions of the couples, highlighting how their relationships evolved, how they handled conflicts, and how they adjusted to each other’s personalities. It has also hosted the shooting of reality shows such as ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ and ‘Real World.’
