Developed by Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone, Fox’s ‘Memory of a Killer’ follows Angelo Doyle, a feared hitman who takes a serious blow in life after he is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. As memories of his violent expeditions begin to fade from his mind, a kinder, more unusual side of his personality comes to the surface, creating a dissonance with far-reaching consequences. With each memory gone and mistake made, Angelo unintentionally puts his family at risk, but with too much at stake, he has no choice but to continue down the path of no return. Given that this psychological thriller series is about the dual lives of an assassin, the tale is told through the minutest of details, from the spaces he inhabits to how he maneuvers around them, creating a constant bed of tension.
Memory of a Killer Filming Locations
‘Memory of a Killer’ was largely lensed in the city of Toronto, the capital of Ontario, with some additional sequences also being taped in the nearby town of Port Perry. Production began in the summer of 2025, with locals documenting the actors and the crew passionately at work around August, through December, before wrapping up sometime around January of 2026. When Patrick Dempsey’s wife, Jillian, paid him a surprise visit on the set to celebrate his 60th birthday, the busy environment quickly gave way to a joyous celebration as the cast joined the duo on the special occasion.
Greater Toronto Area, Ontario
Filming for ‘Memory of a Murder’ primarily took place in Toronto, the capital city of the province of Ontario. The production crew staged multiple exterior scenes in the Upper Beaches neighborhood, with Lyall Avenue in particular hosting a prop police car, labelled as belonging to Hudson Springs, New York. Some portions were also taped in the older residential blocks around Malvern Collegiate Institute, which were similarly redressed to exude the vibe and appearance of a dreamy city in The Empire State. The filming procedure required a brief road closure, which was only made possible thanks to the support of the local crew.
From Toronto, the crew moved south-westwards to their next pitstop, Port Perry, in Scugog. The picturesque town became a significant filming ground in late August 2025, during which time the cast and crew were spotted on Queen Street, next to Bamboo Kitchen and Bar. A little further ahead, locals spotted Patrick Dempsey performing a running sequence next to Brock’s Department Store at 168 Queen Street. In contrast to Toronto, Port Perry offered the crew a quieter, more controlled environment, in turn expanding on the story’s visual canvas with its iconic red brick buildings and community-driven establishments.
After wrapping up filming in Port Perry, the creative team returned to Toronto, where they lensed key sequences around Trinity College at 6 Hoskin Avenue, with production also extending to Masellis Supermarket, located at 906 Danforth Avenue. Locals also noted that Brick Street Bakery, situated at 255 Logan Avenue in Toronto’s Leslieville neighborhood, was transformed into Belinda’s Bakeshop for the series. Filming continued even in December of 2025. Specifically, the cast was spotted lensing some key sequences near Queen East. Toronto is a go-to destination for filmmakers due to its diverse range of scenery and ease of filming. Some other titles that were filmed in The Six include classics such as ‘Good Will Hunting,’ and ‘American Psycho,’ as well as smash hits like ‘The Boys,’ ‘Fallout,’ and ‘Heated Rivalry.’
