According to reports, principal photography for the murder-mystery film got underway in August 2025 and wrapped up after a few weeks in September of the same year. Almost all the pivotal sequences for ‘Murder at the Merriweather’ were reportedly lensed in the city of Alhambra, in California’s Los Angeles County, in the western San Gabriel Valley. In particular, the Wrensmoor Castle at 1700 Grand View Drive was transformed into the fictional Merriweather Hotel, where most of the drama unfolds. Spread across 8,500 square feet, the unique luxury rental property offers 10 bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a dining room, an outdoor fountain, lush lawns, and 360-degree views, making it a perfect vacation stay for family reunions, corporate retreats, and group travels.
The cast and crew members reportedly rented the gated Wrensmoor Castle and used several of its corners and areas for the duration of the shoot. The expansive outdoor area and the fountain make regular appearances in the movie, alongside the bedrooms, hallways, and dining area.
