Helmed by Sherry Hormann, Netflix’s ‘Fall for Me’ is a German erotic thriller movie that centers on a young woman named Lilli who visits her sister, Valeria, on a Spanish island to relax and spend time with her. She is surprised and thrilled when Valeria reveals that she has gotten engaged to a handsome Frenchman named Manu, with whom she plans to invest in a luxurious Bed and Breakfast. However, Lilli is also somewhat suspicious of her sister’s fiancé.
Before she can fully investigate Manu, she finds herself embroiled in a steamy affair with a nightclub manager named Tom. As the two build on their instantaneous connection, Lilli is unaware of the dark secrets that her partner holds. Since the tale of passion and betrayal unfolds on the island of Mallorca, it tends to serve as an additional character that plays a vital role in driving the narrative forward and complementing the themes.
Fall For Me Filming Locations
‘Fall for Me’ was reportedly filmed primarily in Spain, particularly in Mallorca. As per reports, principal photography for the German film took place over the course of a couple of months, between May and July of 2024. The total number of shooting days was about 36. Svenja Jung, who portrays Lilli, took to social media once the shoot was wrapped up. She stated, “It’s a Wrap for FALL FOR ME 🎬And I would FALL FOR ALL OF YOU again. Can’t describe how grateful I’m for each and everyone’s passion while working on this set. Sherry you are an inspiration to me and you made me grow so much during the last weeks. I was a huge fan of your movies since ever and to be part of one now is the biggest honor for me. Can’t wait to show you guys what we were working on!”
Mallorca, Spain
Almost the entirety of ‘Fall for Me’ was lensed on the island of Mallorca, the capital of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. For shooting purposes, the production team didn’t choose the popular sites but set up camp in a number of unexplored areas of the island. For instance, the Finca Son Pi in the municipality of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar served as one of the prominent filming sites. It is a villa with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a private swimming pool, and a picturesque outdoor space. Several important scenes involving Lilli and Tom were supposedly taped in and around the property.
For shooting purposes, the cast and crew members also utilized the locales of Banyalbufar, a coastal village known for the Torre de ses Animes, La Baronía, Cala Banyalbufa, Es Corral Fals, and more. A few key exterior scenes were also reportedly shot on the Cala Pi beach, situated on the south coast of Mallorca. In order to shoot the underwater and cliff scenes with safety and precision, the filming unit worked with a Spanish stunt team. Over the years, Mallorca has hosted the production of several films and TV shows, including ‘Cloud Atlas,’ ‘Suddenly, Last Summer,’ ‘White Lines,’ ‘The Night Manager,’ and ‘Lioness.’
