Where Was Netflix’s Good News Filmed?

Based on the March 1970 hijacking of a Japanese passenger plane, Netflix’s ‘Good News,’ originally titled ‘Gut Nuiuseu,’ is a South Korean disaster drama movie co-written and directed by Byun Sung-hyun. Set in 1970, the narrative revolves around a mission to land a hijacked plane safely. When several members of the Red Army Faction get on board a passenger flight from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport with guns and knives, they hijack the aircraft soon after the plane takes off.

While they demand to be flown to Pyongyang, a mysterious mastermind called “Nobody” orchestrates a plot to bring down the hijacked plane safely with the help of Air Force lieutenant Seo Go-myung and the Director of Korean intelligence Park Sang-hyeon. By double hijacking the plane from the ground, the group must deal with the intense situation with utmost care if they want to get the better of the hijackers. Starring Sul Kyung-gu, Hong Kyung, Ryoo Seung-bum, and Takayuki Yamada, the drama film mostly unfolds inside the aircraft, airports, and other government establishments, highlighting the significance of the mission.
