Netflix’s ‘Nothing to Lose’ chronicles the life of Jade, who has been struggling for several years to have a child of her own with her partner. After many attempts, thanks to an embryo donation, her dream finally comes true as she becomes a mother. Fast forward a few years, and Jade is now a single mother who takes her son to the hospital after he falls critically ill. She is shocked and devastated when the doctors diagnose him with a terminal illness — a rare form of leukemia.
The doting mother embarks on a mission to save his child by trying her best to find a compatible donor before time runs out. Originally titled ‘Jusqu’au Bout,’ the French drama movie is helmed by Nawell Madani and Ludovic Colbeau-Justin and features compelling performances from Madani, Guillaume Gouix, Paul Fouré, Nicolas Briançon, Steve Tientcheu, and David Salles. The tale of grief, loss, and survival unfolds across a myriad of locations, especially at the hospital, Jade’s residence, and an amusement park, all of which elevate the narrative’s visual elements.
Nothing to Lose Filming Locations
Production on ‘Nothing to Lose’ reportedly took place in France, specifically in Île-de-France. From what we can tell, principal photography for the Netflix film got underway around early June 2025 and went on for several weeks before seemingly wrapping up in August of the same year. Majida Ghomari, who portrays Nawell Madani’s mother, expressed her gratitude to be part of the project. She stated, “When you make a dream come true… the one to play with the great @nawell_madani and be her mom in her upcoming feature film on Netflix. Thank you, my dear, for this wonderful role and for these 10 unforgettable days of filming!”
Île-de-France, France
Most of the pivotal sequences for ‘Nothing to Lose’ were lensed in the Île-de-France region, which comprises eight administrative departments — Paris, Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Hauts-de-Seine, Val-de-Marne, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-d’Oise, and Essonne. The capital city of France — Paris — reportedly served as a prominent production location for the Nawell Madani starrer. To be specific, the cast and crew members set up camp in Les Studios de Paris at the Cité du Cinéma at 20 Rue Ampère in the Parisian suburb of Saint-Denis. Spread across 102,000 square feet, the state-of-the-art film studio is home to nine sound stages, production offices, green rooms, workshops, and storage, making it an ideal choice for many filmmakers.
It is likely that several of the indoor hospital scenes were taped using the facilities of the film studio. As for the amusement park scenes, the production team of the drama movie seemingly took over an actual amusement park in Île-de-France. From what we can tell, a few key portions were also recorded in the Hauts-de-Seine department, which is situated just west of Paris. Apart from ‘Nothing to Lose,’ Île-de-France has hosted the production of multiple film and TV projects over the years. Some of the notable ones include ‘The Drama,’ ‘The Devil Wears Prada,’ ‘Me Before You,’ ‘Blue Is the Warmest Colour,’ ‘The Intouchables,’ ‘Emily in Paris,’ ‘Killing Eve,’ and ‘The White Lotus.’
