Old Money Filming Locations

‘Old Money’ is filmed in its entirety in Turkey, specifically in Istanbul and Urfa. According to reports, principal photography for the inaugural iteration of the Turkish show got underway in October 2024 and continued for about 66 days or so before wrapping up by the last week of December of the same year.

Istanbul, Turkey

A significant chunk of ‘Old Money’ was lensed in and around Istanbul, which is situated in north-western Turkey. The production team primarily set up camp at the Bosphorus Strait, where they taped various pivotal interior and exterior sequences. In the establishing or aerial shots, you can spot one of the bridges over the strait between the Bosphorus Bridge, the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, and the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge. The cast and crew members of the show also took over several establishments in the area around the strait, which fills the backdrop of numerous outdoor scenes.

They also utilized the exteriors, and seemingly interiors, of a mansion, which helps reflect the luxurious lifestyle of the characters. You are also likely to spot multiple iconic landmarks and buildings of Istanbul, including the Galata Tower, the Maiden’s Tower, the Topkapı Palace, the Hagia Sophia, and the Blue Mosque. Apart from ‘Old Money,’ the capital has hosted the production of many movies and TV shows over the years. Some of the notable ones are ‘The Rebound,’ ‘Another You,’ ‘Whisper If I Forget,’ ‘Love for Rent,’ Love Is in the Air,’ ‘The Magnificent Century,’ and ‘Wounded Love.’

Urfa, Turkey

Additional portions for ‘Old Money’ were reportedly recorded in the city of Urfa, which is officially called Şanlıurfa. The capital of Şanlıurfa Province, Urfa, is popular for its historic and culturally significant architecture and monuments such as the Urfa Castle, the Halil ür-Rahman Cami, and the Şanlıurfa Museum. The city has also served as a prominent production location for movies and shows like ‘Bana Git De,’ ‘Inconstant Love,’ and ‘The Gift.’
