The Art of Sarah Filming Locations
‘The Art of Sarah’ is primarily filmed in South Korea, particularly in and around Seoul. According to reports, principal photography for the Netflix production got underway in January 2025 and went on for a few months before seemingly wrapping up around late May of the same year. Thanks to South Korea’s vast and versatile landscapes, it proves to be an ideal filming destination for all kinds of projects, including the thriller series.
Seoul, South Korea
The sprawling city of Seoul, which is the capital of South Korea, served as the production location for ‘The Art of Sarah.’ Many of the city’s streets and neighborhoods feature in the backdrop of several exterior scenes. For instance, it is likely that the production team also turned the busy Cheongdam-dong in Gangnam District into a film set to shoot the scenes involving the discovery of a dead body. The cast and crew members also took over the Aston House at 177 Walkerhill-ro in Gwangjin District, where they lensed numerous important indoor and outdoor scenes.
During a press conference, Lee Jun-hyuk praised Shin Hye-sun’s focus on set and said working with her was comfortable on set. However, he admitted that his role demanded a lot from him, especially mentally. He added (translated), “I had a lot of stress, and I think I went along with Mu-gyeong’s emotions as there were missions at every filming site.” The establishing shots of the metropolis also features its modern skyline, which includes several landmarks and buildings, such as Deoksugung Palace, Lotte World Tower, the Seongsan Bridge , the 63 Building, Three IFC Office Tower, and more.
