Directed by Sitisiri Mongkolsiri, Netflix’s ‘The Red Line’ is a Thai crime drama movie that centers on a homemaker named Orn, who was once an exceptional marketer. Upon receiving a call from someone accusing her of money laundering, she provides them with her bank details in order to prove her innocence. It turns out it was a call center scam, which resulted in her losing her family’s savings. Initially, she turns to the police for help, but when they are unable to help her, she takes matters into her own hands and forms a team with two other female victims — a physical therapist named Fai and an online retailer named Wawwow whose grandmother lost her lifetime savings.
Enlisting the help of a competent hacker named OJ, the three women embark on a deadly mission to track down Aood, the operator of the call center scam that ruined their lives and those of many others. Determined to win back their money and dignity, they also encounter another member of the call center gang, Yui, who works for the gang out of necessity. Originally titled ‘Sen Tai Sai Luang,’ the thriller film features Nittha Jirayungyurn, Esther Supreeleela, Chutima Maholakul, Todsapol Maisuk, and Tonhon Tantivejakul. Set before the Thai border conflict, the tale of revenge unfolds amid the city’s hustle and bustle, complementing the cat-and-mouse game between the three women and the scammers.
The Red Line Filming Locations
The shooting for ‘The Red Line’ took place entirely in Thailand, especially in Bangkok. From what we can tell, it is likely that principal photography for the thriller film got underway sometime in 2025, over the course of a few months. Since the story is set in Thailand, it is only natural for the makers to shoot it on location and add a layer of authenticity to the narrative.

All the pivotal sequences for ‘The Red Line’ were lensed in and around Bangkok — the capital of Thailand. Situated in the Chao Phraya River delta, the city’s streets and neighborhoods were reportedly turned into film sets during the shooting process. Indoor scenes involving the call center gang’s headquarters and the three women’s residences were either taped in real-life establishments or sound stages of one of the film studios located within Bangkok.
In the establishing and exterior shots, you are likely to spot multiple landmarks and buildings in the backdrop, such as Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, the Giant Swing, Victory Monument, the Democracy Monument, Baiyoke Tower II, and Siam Paragon. Apart from ‘The Red Line,’ Bangkok has served as a prominent production location for numerous movies and TV shows over the years. Some of the notable ones include ‘Only God Forgives,’ ‘A Prayer Before Dawn,’ ‘Mercury Rising,’ ‘Skin Trade,’ ‘Girl from Nowhere,’ and ‘The Serpent.’
