In Netflix’s ‘To the Max,’ Carlos Suárez has a deep passion for climbing until he discovers wingsuit BASE jumping. While pursuing his newfound passion for the recreational sport, he crosses paths with several like-minded individuals, but he connects most with Darío Barrio and Armando del Rey. As they bond over their love for BASE jumping, the trio of friends finds comfort in each other and the risky flights they take together. Originally titled ‘La Fiera,’ the Spanish adventure movie is inspired by the true story of three pioneers of BASE jumping in Spain.

The Salvador Calvo directorial features stellar performances from a talented ensemble cast comprising Carlos Cuevas, Miguel Bernardeau, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Candela González, and Stéphanie Magnin. Since the adventurous tale of the three friends unfolds across Spain and other places, it ends up transporting the viewers with them on their journey.

To the Max Filming Locations

‘To the Max’ is filmed across Spain and Switzerland, specifically in Castilla–La Mancha, Aragon, the Community of Madrid, Castile and León, St. Gallen, and Bern. From what we can tell, principal photography for the Spanish movie took place in the spring of 2025, around April. During the filming of the movie, Carlos Suárez tragically passed away on the set on April 1, 2025, while performing a group jump from a hot air balloon. Castilla–La Mancha, Spain

A significant chunk of ‘To the Max’ was reportedly lensed in the autonomous community of Castilla–La Mancha, situated in the middle of the Iberian Peninsula. Around April 2025, the cast and crew members were spotted recording several pivotal sequences in the de jure seat of the autonomous community — the city of Toledo.
