Created by Augustín Martínez, Netflix’s ‘Two Graves’ or ‘Dos tumbas’ is a Spanish crime drama series that revolves around the disappearance of two teenage friends — Verónica and Mandy — in a quaint Spanish coastal town. Despite the best efforts of the detectives, the case turns cold after two years of extensive investigation due to a lack of evidence. When the authorities close the case, Verónica’s grandmother, Isabel, decides to take matters into her own hands and get to the bottom of the mystery behind the girls’ disappearance.
Driven by the love and concern for her granddaughter, Isabel goes to extreme lengths to find out the truth. Her search for the perpetrator soon turns into a journey of revenge. Originally titled ‘Dos Tumbas,’ the mystery thriller series features a talented ensemble cast comprising Kiti Mánver, Álvaro Morte, Hovik Keuchkerian, Nadia Vilaplana, Joan Solé, Carlos Scholz, and Nonna Cardoner, each of whom effortlessly slips into their roles and delivers compelling performances. The peace and quiet of the town work as a mask for the shady secrets it buries, making it an additional character in the story and creating an atmosphere of suspense and mystery.
