Where Was Netflix’s Wall to Wall Filmed?

Originally titled ’84 Jegopmiteo,’ Netflix’s ‘Wall to Wall’ is a South Korean thriller drama movie helmed by Kim Tae-joon and Sharon S. Park. The narrative follows a young man named Woo-sung who has long dreamt of owning a house of his own. Despite his financial burdens, he manages to save up enough funds to finally buy a standard Korean 84-square-meter apartment. Little does he know that soon enough, his dream home would become the source of his nightmares. Before the new homeowner even has the chance to settle into the apartment, he is disturbed by mysterious noises from neighboring floors, secret walls, and unfriendly neighbors.

As the disturbing noises become a constant distraction each night, the other neighbors start blaming Woo-sung for being the source. In order to prove his innocence, he takes matters into his own hands and sets out to find the truth. Featuring powerful performances from Kang Ha-neul, Yeom Hye-ran, and Seo Hyun-woo, the suspenseful film creates an eerie setting to capture the tension, thanks to the apartment building where most of the thriller unfolds.

Wall to Wall Filming Locations

‘Wall to Wall’ was reportedly filmed in its entirety in South Korea, especially in Seoul. According to reports, principal photography for the Netflix thriller took place in the spring of 2024, around the month of April. Given the fact that the entire story is set in South Korea itself, the production team utilized various spots in the nation. The cast and crew members had a great time shooting the film and returned home with loads of memories and friendships.

Seoul, South Korea

Since Seoul is the primary setting of ‘Wall to Wall,’ the film was extensively shot in the capital city in the northwestern part of South Korea. The traditional 84-square-meter apartment Woo-sung calls home might have been taped in either a real home or a production studio. Either way, the production team mostly worked with limited space when shooting the apartment scenes, complementing the unsettling tone of the narrative. In the establishing shots, you might also spot several landmarks and attractions in Seoul, such as Lotte World Tower, Gwanghwamun, the National Museum of Korea, and Cheonggyecheon. The city has also served as a production location for other projects, including ‘Parasite,’ ‘Oldboy,’ ‘The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil,’ ‘The Housemaid,’ ‘The Recruit,’ and ‘Mercy for None.’

Kang Ha-neul, who portrays Woo-sung in ‘Wall to Wall,’ talked about how he shot the scenes representing over six days of deterioration in just a single day. “…While it was fun, considering we were working in a limited space, the angles the camera could express were limited. Therefore, I pondered how to depict these six days, breaking it down step by step. For example, on the first day, my hair was neat, and by the next day, it was messy, so I planned the sequence and expressed it step by step from the first to the sixth. Filming in such segments turned out to be very interesting,” he explained.
